Humane Society for Animals

Humane Society for Animals We advocate for livestock welfare and stricter meat handling/storing regulations. Currently, the treatment of farm animals is cruel. We also accept donations.

We are a nonprofit activist group that aims to have stricter regulations put in place for livestock. We cannot stop the meat industry, but we can make sure that the animals live a comfortable life until the end. It is paramount that the animals live freely, fed correctly with the right nutrients, and experience the least amount of emotional stress as possible. We hold fundraising events, protests,

communicate with political figures, attend town hall meetings, and rallies that inform consumers about the effects stress has on their meat. We have been to many feedlots across the country. These lots are where farmers keep their livestock in very crowded pens. The cows get limited movement/exercise and suffer under their own weight. The chickens are stuffed into tiny coups full of other chickens, stepping in their own waste. They are starved until the last minute and force fed feed with hormones and antibiotics. When animals and humans are stressed they produce cortisol. This cortisol affects the tenderness or toughness of the meat. Enough of it, even consumed, can cause a heart attack. If you wish to help us on our mission, you can volunteer your time! You can help organize events, write letters to congress, attend hall meetings, anyway you can help, we appreciate it greatly! Learn the story about Leon Pasadyn, 57, who recently switched to plant-based meat alternatives, because of his daughter. Felicia wanted her dad to try and experience a plant-based diet.
Pasadyn had been taking medication for his high-level cholesterol. After he had adopted his daughter's diet he noticed that his cholesterol level was no longer high. There are many benefits to making the switch. This switch includes a lowered risk of heart disease.

Researchers during the pandemic have also found in their studies that a healthy plant-based diet can help reduce the risk of getting COVID-19.

Entrepreneurs don’t think it’s a fad. Even the fast-food industry is adding such food to their menus. And experts predict the market will be valued at over $162 billion by 2030.

Every single day, 200 million animals are slaughtered worldwide. In the United States alone, there are 25 million slaughtered a day. These numbers have only increased since the 1960s, it is time for a change!

First, the livestock goes through the transport process in which the animals are starved and dehydrated while being moved to the meat processing facility. While also being overcrowded in extreme temperatures. Stuffed into small cages huddling together in hopes to get warmth.

Second, the animals suffer from an electrical stunning below the head. This method was created as a way to help the animals not feel pain but it doesn’t always work. The electricity method makes cows have fractured skulls and chickens have electrified baths while shackled upside down. Many survive the electricity, with almost all 5 senses still intact, as their bodies are falling apart.

While death is an inevitable part of all animals’ lives, slaughter doesn’t need to be—especially at the nauseating scale that intensive industrial agriculture demands.
