Nothing like a weekend in the twirling gym 👯‍♀️

One of my most favorite contests of the year *just so happens* to be hosted here in State College by forever Blue Sapphire and Touch of Blue Captain, Matt and Meredith Freeman! I count myself lucky to be a part of a community that welcomes me back with opportunities to learn, grow, and giveback however possible.

Thanks to M Twirling Team, I spent Saturday behind the judges table clerking for Ms Lora Riley Riegner where I had a first row to watch our up and coming twirling champions while taking my first steps to earning my judging license. Without missing a beat, I returned to debut my talent routine for an exhibition performance on Sunday during the regional team championships competition!

Rockstar and twirling champion, Miss Scarlette Cooley, accepted my invitation to join me for Miss PA Week as my Belle — be prepared to love her just like I do. Cianna’s Boutique not only provided me with my sparkle (and Bobby Pins), but a ‘contest home’ for the weekend — Denice, thank you for always going the extra mile for me as I chase this dream.

Returning to my roots and being surrounded by the people who know me best was exactly what I needed while heading into the final week of prep for Miss PA Week. Until next time twirling world, know I’m rooting for you through each routine, toss, and twirl. 🤍

Once a Y kid, always a Y kid 🫧

Moments like this remind me of the special role I get to have in these young girls lives. Though it may just be 1-2 hours of time, I take immense responsibility in creating a lasting impact that positively affects their self-worth and outlook on their potential for years to come.

Together, at the Bellefonte YMCA Princess Party, we collected goods for the branch’s community pantry, talked alllll about how each of us can make a difference as we grow, and of course, completed not one — but two crafts.. talk about a productive day.

Kristin and Ashley, two of my favorite YMCA of Centre County leaders, also helped me set up a fun community raffle to fundraise and raise awareness on behalf of the American Heart Association.

Not much can replace the gift of time with my new and forever friends: Olive, Lila, Emily, Audrey, Aubrey, Cora, Ellie, and beyond! 🤍

I’ll never not be a sweet treat gal 🤭🍫

A visit to Gardners Candies had me feeling like a kid in the candy store all over again. Located right on North Atherton, dangerously close to home, is one of Central Pennsylvania’s most delectable delicacies brought to us by the Sarris Family.

Alongside her fantastic team, Miss Melty showed me around the sweetest place to be in State College and of course, Tyrone. Though her tour was very informative, I did consider myself to be an expert prior as their chocolate covered oreos and pretzels are an eaten staple of my gas station grand!

This day required it’s own spot (or two) in this very digital scrapbook, as it commentates a genuine connection the Central PA community and the Miss PA Scholarship Foundation, Inc. has provided me. And it’s one that continues to far past me as the Gardner’s team has sent me on my way to Miss PA with a front seat loaded with goodies to be shared with my fellow titleholders and the many porch pantries.
.Much more than a gift of goodies, but rather the epitome of the access — ensuring all Pennsylvanians have the chance to enjoy the sweetest treasures in life. Thank you, Gardners Candies and Miss Melty for a day I surely will never forget!
