Freedom, Family, & PA Fairs! 🐮🚜🍦🎡
Lisa, Rosie, and I made our way to the Huntingdon County Fair for the Coronation of their newly crowned Queen + fellowship Penn Stater, Madison Mowrer and Queen Alternate, Trinity Hardy! These two are clearly a dream team that will help innovate, celebrate, and guide their county forward in a myriad of ways this coming year. Thank you Marra Baker for the invitation and warmest welcome!
This year was the inaugural celebration of the Bob Ross Youth Scholarship — working to bridge the gap between one’s passions and education for local students. What a special event to be a part of! We even got to visit the Pennsylvania Fur Trappers, a proud and valued supporter of Miss Pennsylvania & Miss Pennsylvania’s Teen. Hearing their experiences with the organization and the mutual respect for our state titleholders was a highlight of the day.
We were also fortunate to receive a tour of the fairgrounds and chance to meet the Queen’s council — learning more about the rich tradition (like their infamous bubbles) this week holds for many. I had the privilege to share more about Miss PA Scholarship Foundation, Inc. & Miss America and encourage the contestants, Fair Ambassadors, and visiting royalty to join us for a local competition this coming season as these ladies are fantastic examples of future MAO titleholders!
It was such a treat to see Jolynn Mickle, Bedford County Fair Queen, who I served as a judge for just a few weeks back. She’s already leading by example and representing Bedford with the utmost pride. A moment that validated feelings of making the most of one’s year of service, building genuine rapport with those around you, and investing every experience.
Fair Season is far from over and so are my travels, cannot wait to visit our next coronation (and the chance to have more fair food)!
