Girl’s Week Graduation Ceremony!!🏅👮🏻‍♀️🏆

graduation on Saturday morning signified the end of a fantastic week, but also reminded the girls of the life lessons learned and friendships made while at Camp Cadet!!

a familiar face and iconic legend to Camp Cadet, Kelly Aston, came out as the guest speaker and a lifetime appreciation award was given to her for over 25 years of unwavering dedication, leadership and service to the program!!

special thank you to all of the female staff members who helped hold the week together - we had representation from Patton Township Police, State College Police, Ferguson Township Police, Bellefonte Police and Centre LifeLink!!

Friday of Girl’s Week started with a final barracks inspection led by a mini OIC and then the girls toured PSP’s helicopter, an armored vehicle, patrol car and ambulance!!

they also learned about the FBI and then participated in the Camp Cadet Pentathlon. after dinner the girls practiced for the graduation ceremony, got showers and made their way to an awesome Graduation Party including mountain pies, ice cream and cake!!

our posting is a little behind because we’ve been having too much fun at Camp Cadet!!

Thursday the girls started their day with an SFST/DRE presentation which included being able to put on alcohol or drug goggles to do various activities including a driving simulator. The girls then enjoyed a bomb squad demo where they successfully blew up a box.

after lunch their rotations continued with shooting, archery, motorcycles, CSI and ziplining!!

Thursday evening ended with a weapons demo and team building skits down at the lake!!

Wednesday the girls had a presentation on healthy relationships and then rolled into their squad activities which included being detectives, learning how to shoot a .22, learning how to shoot a bow, learning how to ride a motorcycle, swinging through the trees, climbing a rock wall and ziplining!!

after dinner they saw a drone demo by PSUPD’s Drone Unit and got to see PTPD’s K9 Graf in action!!

we then had to correct a few disrespectful and bad behaviors, but followed that up with an ICE CREAM PARTY!!! - we can’t believe we’re already halfway through the week!!

Tuesday started with a presentation on mental health by the Jana Marie Foundation and then the Game Commission brought us a bear that they trapped which already makes our week better than Boy’s Week!! 🐻

the squads then finished their rotation of activities they did not do yet from Monday’s schedule which included learning self-defense, canoeing, CPR, fire safety and fishing!!

after dinner the cadets navigated a challenge course until dark which relied heavily on team work and you guessed it more s’mores before lights out!!

Monday kicked off a full day of activities for Girl’s Week!!! The morning started with their first round of PT and then they had a presentation by the PSP Mounted Unit. Some of the girls learned self-defense, got certified in CPR, learned fire safety, learned how to canoe and caught some nice fish today!!

we also worked around a redish/pink blob on the radar map earlier today and survived some very heavy downpours!!

The staff for Camp Cadet boys week 2026 came from multiple agencies, including Patton Township Police Department, State College Police Department, Ferguson Township Police Department, Bellefonte Police Department, Centre County Sheriff’s Office, Pennsylvania State Police, Penn State University Police, US Pentagon Police, and Penn State EMS/Centre Lifelink Tactical Medical Support Team. Without these men and the backing from their departments, this program would be impossible.
