Saturday was graduation for Centre County Camp Cadet boys week class of 2025. This year 48 Cadets completed the program after a week of dedication and hard work.

Some Cadets earned awards for showing leadership within their squads, attaining top scores in shooting or archery, or achieving personal successes. Another award given for the first time this year, the Sgt. Scott Rossman Physical Fitness award, was given to the Cadet who showed the highest level of fitness and physical ability. Finally, our highest award, Honor Cadet, was given to the Cadet who demonstrated the true values of Camp Cadet and showed the highest level of leadership, not only in his own squad, but across the whole camp.

We are proud of all of these young men, and appreciative to their families who entrusted us to positively impact their lives for the week. We are also extremely thankful to the Officers, Troopers, Deputies, and our camp Medic, who all gave a week of time away from their families and jobs to staff the camp and help educate and guide these Cadets.

Friday, our last full day at camp. Today the cadets had the chance to check out a State Police helicopter, a tactical vehicle, and several different patrol vehicles and learn about the equipment carried on each. The cadets then had a presentation from the FBI, followed by the Camp Cadet pentathlon. After dinner the Cadets took on a staff favorite, the facing movement and bearing competition. In the evening, the Cadets were rewarded for their hard work with a graduation party with mountain pies provided by the State College Rotary Club. To end the night, the cadets participated in a flag retirement ceremony, followed by words of wisdom from veteran Camp Cadet counselors.
