Good Day Cafe opened 8 years ago today! What an incredible journey this has been. We sincerely appreciate all the love and support you have poured into our cafe for these last 8 years. We are excited to announce that two of our team members have been recognized by Devereux for their unwavering dedication to our mission!

Brandy Roane, a Mental Health Program Supervisor, has been named a recipient of the 2026 Supervisory Excellence Award! Brandy leads by example and fosters a positive work environment that is respectful, flexible, and supportive. She helps our team members achieve their personal and professional best. Thank you, Brandy, for all you do for Strawberry Fields and your team. Congratulations!

Chris McLellan, a Mental Health Case Manager is a recipient of the Thomas Donovan Culture of Caring Award, which recognizes staff who go above and beyond each day to help the people we serve reach their full and unique potential. Congratulations to Chris on this well-deserved recognition and for her exemplary service to Strawberry Fields and the people we serve!

Words Matter, Choose Kindness!

Lately, we’ve noticed the R-word creeping back into conversations, online and in person. Maybe it’s meant as a joke or just an old habit, but here’s the thing: it still hurts.

For people with intellectual disabilities and their families, this word isn’t just outdated, it’s offensive. It reduces real people to a slur, reinforcing harmful stereotypes and making the world a little less kind.

We believe in dignity, respect, and inclusion. Words have power, and choosing better ones helps create a world where everyone feels valued. Let's all do better!
