Summer means more kids outside, more families on the move, and more activity in our neighborhoods. As drivers, staying alert can prevent accidents and save lives.

• Use extra caution in school zones during the last week of school
• Watch for kids arriving or leaving at unusual times
• Playground speed limits stay in effect all year
• Look for signs of play — balls, bikes, toys
• Always check behind your vehicle before backing up
• Expect more kids on bikes, skateboards, and walking through parking lots

Let’s keep our roads safe for everyone.

Men’s health often centers on physical well‑being — fitness, checkups, heart health — but mental health is health, too.

Just like the body needs care, so do our emotional and mental needs. Yet many men struggle in silence. Men are nearly four times more likely to die by su***de than women*, highlighting the urgent need to break stigma, speak openly, and encourage support.

Memorial Day is a federal holiday dedicated to honoring and mourning the U.S. military personnel who lost their lives in service to our country. Observed on the last Monday in May, it’s a time for reflection, remembrance, and gratitude.

Across the nation, people visit cemeteries and memorials to pay their respects, and volunteers place American flags on the graves of fallen service members. The first national observance of what would become Memorial Day took place on May 30, 1868.

As we remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice, we also recognize Memorial Day as the unofficial start of summer—a moment to pause, reflect, and honor their legacy.

Spending time outdoors is a powerful support for mental well‑being. Even a few minutes in nature can ease stress and anxiety, lift your mood, sharpen focus, and help regulate the body’s stress response. Research shows that short outdoor breaks can lower cortisol, promote relaxation, and contribute to overall emotional balance.
