Whether you're looking to get your hands dirty in the pottery studio or build something beautiful for your outdoor space, there's something here for everyone!

Coming up:

Pottery: Getting Started (Wheel Throwing) — Brand new to pottery. Learn the basics of wheel throwing, trimming, and glazing.

Introductory Handbuilt Pottery — Dive into pinching, coiling, slab-building, and sculpting over five hands-on sessions. No clay experience needed.

Build a Porch Planter Box — Craft a beautiful free-standing planter box for your porch or patio, with room for 4–6 plants! Great way to get started in woodworking.

Custom Co****le Boards — No backyard BBQ is complete without co****le! Build and customize your very own set from scratch.

Yes, we know… it’s barely flip flop season. 😅 But consider this your heads up that applications for The Rivet’s Winter Market will open next week!

Join us November 7 & 8 for a festive weekend full of handmade goods, food trucks, workshops, hands-on fun, and holiday shopping that supports local makers. ✨

This year there are THREE ways to participate:

Vendor Booth — Run your own booth + connect 1:1 with shoppers

Maker Booth — We sell your products for you!

Food Trucks — Feed our festive crowd!

Checking in with our annual reminder! ☀️As long awaited summer weather makes its way to Central PA, please remember…

Closed-toe shoes are required while using our workshop, on your own and during classes!

Crocs (with holes) are okay for the pottery area and main bay work tables, but please wear something more heavy duty for any wood or metal work! 🥾👟

We love you and our goal is to keep your feet safe while you make whatever you are making! 🫶

📢 Heads up! The Rivet is closed today, Tuesday May 19th, for Election Day. 🗳️

As Discovery Space and The Rivet serve as two of our community's polling locations, we'll be reserving the space for voters only. That means no pick-ups, drop-offs, or general stop-ins that day!

You may know him as “the Mr. Rogers of The Rivet” around here, but to us, Lee Ellenberger is one of those members who quietly reminds us why this place exists.

A devoted practitioner of pottery, Lee took his first class in our studio, and has poured so much heart into his craft and this community ever since.

On Saturday, May 16th from 12–3 PM, Lee will be giving away his handcrafted pottery creations right here in our workshop. Mugs, vases, candle holders, hanging planters, coasters, and so much more. Every piece made with care, and every piece completely free.

Join us to browse Lee’s work, enjoy some light refreshments, and find a piece or a set that speaks to you!
