Formerly known as the North Western PA GIS Conference, this long-standing geospatial gathering has been bringing the GIS community together since 2006—and for five years prior as a GIS Day event!
Hosted at PennWest University–Clarion in Clarion, PA, the Western Pennsylvania GIS Conference continues its tradition of connecting geospatial professionals, educators, students, and industry partners to share knowledge, explore emerging technologies, and showcase how GIS is making a difference in our communities. 🗺️💻

To be more specific, we have booked a campsite in Hickory Run State Park for Friday, September 18 – Sunday, September 20.

You are welcome to camp out with us OR just participate in one of the hikes offered on Saturday/Sunday.

Looking for an exciting STEM opportunity this summer? Don't miss the GIS & Drone Summer Camp being offered through a partnership between Frank Romo | Romo GIS and Erie's Public Schools for rising 9th-grade students.

Participants will gain hands-on experience with GIS and drone technology, learn how maps are created, explore real-world geospatial applications, and even take part in drone racing activities. It's a fantastic opportunity to introduce students to the rapidly growing geospatial industry while developing valuable technical and problem-solving skills.

Hear lessons learned on the front lines as David Curtis, Senior Technical Advisor @ WEST Consultants, draws on his 50 years of experience in hydrology, flood risk management, and emergency preparedness AND his first-hand experiences during the devastating summer 2025 flooding events in Texas.

Also, hear from Christian Przybylek, M.A., GIS Section Chief @ Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA). Christian will highlight how PEMA is leveraging geospatial technologies to improve flood preparedness and resilience across Pennsylvania.
