Planting succulents together.

Participants spent time learning how to handle soil, place plants, and build their own small arrangements. Working with plants encourages patience, focus, and hands-on problem solving as everyone works step by step to create something that can keep growing.

Moments like these are part of everyday life at ACRES, where learning often happens through shared experiences around the table.

We shape our programs around the people we serve. That means listening, adapting, and growing—right alongside them.

Recent activities at ACRES included creativity, hands-on learning, and teamwork around the table.

Participants designed their own buttons, practiced identifying different parts of a plant, sorted items by category, and spent more time boom whacking together throughout the day.

A lot of learning happens through doing — and today was full of it.

We visited the greenhouse to learn about different growing media. The students also planted more in the pots they painted. We spent some time with music, then went on an iSpy spring walk. We ended the group with Simon Says and Red Light, Green Light. It was a great day inside and outside at ACRES.

Thank you to everyone who supported ACRES through Centre Gives 2026 from Centre Foundation.

We’re grateful to everyone who donated, shared posts, encouraged others, and helped spread the word about ACRES during this year’s campaign.

Because of your support, ACRES can continue helping neurodivergent individuals build foundations for success through social connection, vocational opportunities, work readiness training, advocacy, independent living support, and mentorship opportunities.

From developing self-advocacy skills to gaining supported work experience, these programs are made possible through the support of our community.

Thank you for supporting the work ACRES does every day.
