Penn State Smeal College of Business, a CBICC Investor Member, and the Downtown State College Improvement District, our valued community partner, launched a six-week partnership with local businesses, pairing graduate students with entrepreneurs on real business opportunities.

Two of the seven participating businesses, Whiskey Barber Salon LLC and Penn Steaks, both CBICC members, worked with graduate students to solve real operational needs, strengthening both student learning and local business growth.

The Whiskey Barber Salon and Penn Steaks have been fully invested in downtown from day one, proactive, engaged, and ready to grow with the community.

We're proud of Smeal and DSCID for building this model and the impact it's creating.

We were honored to celebrate the grand opening of Bricks & Minifigs Happy Valley with a ribbon cutting this past weekend in State College. This locally owned store specializes in buying, selling, and trading new and used LEGO sets, bulk bricks, and minifigures, and features an event space available for birthday parties, corporate workshops, and team building. Owner Zachary Barlow is a State College area resident who is passionate about bringing this one-of-a-kind experience to Centre County.
Be sure to stop by and explore everything they have to offer.
