🍷🎣 Fall Winery Event at Mt. Nittany Vineyard & Winery! 🎣🍷

The Spring Creek Chapter of Trout Unlimited is kicking off the season with an evening of good friends, great food, fish stories, and beautiful scenery!

🍔 All American Burger — 1/4-pound beef patty (or two patties) with American cheese, lettuce, tomato & onion

🥦 Butternut Squash Salad — mixed greens, roasted butternut squash, dried cranberries, walnuts, shaved parmesan & red onion with apple cider vinaigrette (add chicken)

🥪 Roasted Broccoli Caesar Wrap — oven-roasted broccoli, fresh greens, red onion, tomato & Caesar dressing in a wrap (add chicken)

🌧Despite Mother Nature's best efforts, our Fishing Social at McCoy Dam was still a success!

🍕About 10 of us gathered to enjoy some time together, sharing pizza, stories, and plenty of laughs before a strong thunderstorm rolled through. Once the rain arrived, the group split up—about half headed out for food and drinks, while the other half embraced the adventure and stayed to fish through the downpour.

🎣Those who stuck it out on the water were rewarded with some great catches, lots of laughs, and memories. Sometimes the best fishing stories come from the worst weather!

Thanks to everyone who came out and made the most of the day, rain or shine. We look forward to seeing everyone at our next event—hopefully with a little more sunshine! 😁

🎣 Our Youth Education committee and volunteers have been busy recently. On June 20, they participated in the Wildlife For Everyone event at Penns Cave! Kids had the opportunity to get hands-on experience casting a fly rod, while Wildlife For Everyone raffled off a fly rod every hour and treated each winner to a fishing experience at Penns Cave.

👏A big thank you to our amazing youth outreach volunteers, Diane Brown and Cortney Gruneberg, for setting up and introducing so many young anglers to the sport. We appreciate all they do to inspire the next generation!

What a fantastic two days at Black Moshannon State Park! 🎣🌲

On June 17 & 18, our chapter hosted a two-day STREAM Keepers program in partnership with the Centre County Conservation District and the Middle Susquehanna RiverKeeper Association. We were excited to welcome youth from the State College and Philipsburg areas for hands-on learning and outdoor exploration.
This program was made possible in part through a grant from the Soil and Water Conservation Society, which helped provide materials and resources for the participants.

👏A special thank you goes to our dedicated youth education volunteers, whose time, energy, and expertise once again made this program a success. Their commitment helps create meaningful experiences that connect young people to our natural resources.

🎣While the wind made fishing a bit challenging, it certainly didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits! The kids had a great time learning, exploring, and enjoying all that Black Moshannon State Park has to offer.

🌡As things heat up - remember, trout are coldwater species and experience physical stress when stream temperatures climb above 68°F. Make sure to carry your water thermometer with you and use it!

🎣🐟 On Thursday, May 28, our chapter had the pleasure of helping the State College Delta High School Program release their Trout in the Classroom fish at Whipple Dam! 🌊

After the release, we spent the afternoon helping approximately 40 students learn and enjoy bait fishing. 🎣 For several of the students, it was a day they will never forget—they caught their very first fish! 🐟😊

It was fun to see so much excitement outdoors and to help introduce the next generation to fishing, conservation, and the enjoyment of our local waters. 🌲🌞
A big thank you to the students, teachers, and volunteers who made this a memorable day! 👏💙

🐟🦆 Volunteers Needed for the YMCA's Annual Duck Derby & Trout Release! 🦆🐟

Volunteers are needed to:

✅ Collect rubber ducks as they cross the finish line

🎣 Making memories one fish at a time! 🎣

We had a fantastic turnout with more than 3️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ attendees joining us for our Annual Family Fishing Picnic!

From casting lines to sharing laughs, it was a day filled with fun, fellowship, and unforgettable memories. This event would not have been possible without the dedication and hard work of our 8️⃣0️⃣ amazing volunteers who helped make the day run smoothly from start to finish 👏🏻

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who attended, volunteered, and supported this event. Thank you for helping make this year's Family Fishing Picnic such a tremendous success. We can't wait to do it again next year!
