Thank you to everyone who attended our Speaker Series event with Frank Landis on night time fishing! We had a great turnout with 16 attendees and an evening full of useful tips and stories.

A few key takeaways from the night:
🌕 A full moon may not be the best time for night fishing
🎣 It’s important to fish familiar spots you already know from the daytime
🪰 Subsurface flies can often be the ticket
🐭 And while topwater mousing is a blast, patience and persistence pay off!

On April 28, our chapter’s youth volunteers spent the day at Tussey Mountain Ski Resort pond helping Cub Scouts from Bellefonte reel in their very first fish! 🎣

There may have been a few worms sacrificed along the way—and not everyone was quite ready to bait their own hook—but the smiles, laughter, and excitement made it all worth it.

It was a fantastic day of learning, trying something new, and making memories outdoors. Great job to our volunteers for sharing their time and passion, and to the Cub Scouts for diving right in and giving it a try!

Soldiers to Scientist is seeking volunteers to help instruct during the Veteran Summer Environmental Retreat, happening June 5–7, 2026 at Poe Valley State Park near Poe Mountain and Paddy Mountain.

This immersive field science retreat is designed for veterans interested in wildlife ecology, conservation, and fishing, providing hands-on outdoor learning experiences in a beautiful natural setting.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out for Clearwater’s Watershed Cleanup Day! 🌎💙

We had an amazing turnout with 21 volunteers who helped collect 56 bags of trash, along with 1 ATV tire and even a discarded cushion!

Our new Kissinger Meadow cleanup site was a success, with 10 bags collected there alone. Volunteers tackled a large amount of litter behind the CVS/hotel area, making a big impact on our community and watershed.

The weather was beautiful, spirits were high, and everyone had a great time working together to keep the Spring Creek watershed clean. Thank you again to all who volunteered their time and energy — we couldn’t do it without you! 🙌♻️

🌊🎣 ESTREAM Keepers Youth Program Day Camp: Science, Art & Fly Fishing for Youth! 🎨🔬

Calling all young adventurers! Join us for an exciting hands-on experience where kids will explore a local stream as scientists, anglers, and artists.

📅 Dates & Times:
June 17: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
June 18: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
📍 Location: Black Moshannon State Park, Education Building (opposite side of the lake from the beach area)

👨‍👩‍👧 Details for Parents:
Adults drop off children and return at pick-up time.
Lunch is provided; children with allergies should bring their own.
Liability waiver will be sent electronically (can also be brought the day of).
