Student Philanthropy Network was created in 2019 through the merging of two student philanthropy organizations.

SPN works to continue the great tradition of the Class Gift Campaign while also promoting new ways for students to engage in philanthropy. ✨ Throwback to 2013 when the Senior Class gifted Penn State the iconic “We Are” sculpture! 🦁💙

Designed by alumnus Jonathan Cramer, this 12-foot-tall, 33-foot-long stainless steel masterpiece spells out the powerful words “We Are,” a phrase deeply rooted in Penn State’s history and spirit. Located at the intersection of Curtin Road and University Drive, the sculpture stands as a symbol of unity, pride, and the collective identity of the Penn State community.

The phrase “We Are” originated in the 1940s as a statement of solidarity and inclusion, symbolizing the university’s commitment to standing together against adversity. The sculpture not only celebrates our rich heritage but also serves as a gathering spot for students, alumni, and visitors to create lasting memories.

Only three days left until the big reveal of this year’s Class Gift! Stay tuned to see what legacy the next class will leave behind.
