Happy Memorial Day from Troop 245. Today some of our scouts helped out with flag raising and lowering at Pine Hall Cemetery in honor of our fallen men and women soldiers who gave their lives for us.

This past Sunday we had an Eagle Scout Court of Honor for Gus Clement, Zach Spicer, and John Rozzano. Thank you to all the guests and dignitaries that came to celebrate their great achievement.

The scouts worked hard Monday night, replacing flags on graves with the Nittany American Legion Post 245 in advance of Memorial Day.

Yesterday, Scouts in Troop 245 took a hunter education course. All scout and parent attendees passed on their first attempt and received their hunter trapper education patch, and will soon receive their Pennsylvania Hunter Trapper Education certificate in the mail. Special thanks to Port Matilda Sportsmen's Association, Inc. for being gracious hosts and also special thanks to the help from the Pennsylvania Game Commission - specifically, Wildlife Conservation Officer Ross and Deputy Schaeffer, for their passion to educate tomorrow's future hunters of Pennsylvania.
