HAPPENING TOMORROW (SUNDAY)!

The NAACP's gala event returns! We invite everyone to join us at the Freedom Fund Banquet on Sept 14, 2025 at 5pm at the Travis Outlaw Center. Our theme this year is "The Fierce Urgency of Now" and we are delighted to have Mississippi State Representative Cheikh Taylor as guest speaker. The banquet will feature an award ceremony to recognize local luminaries.

The Fight For Freedom Fund Dinner was launched in April 1956 in a period of renewed national hope and determination among Black Americans, even in the face of continuing racial violence and tragedy. We are still fighting today for freedom and justice. Your support of our Freedom Fund ensures that we will remain on the front lines. Funds collected through ticket and table sales help us plan our activities for the next year.

Change begins with our young people. Did you know that NAACP has dedicated youth chapters? In a youth chapter, young members create and lead events, learn to manage their budget, and develop other valuable skills such as leadership development. And they do that by participating in community activities and learning the importance of being active in their local communities. Oktibbeha NAACP Youth Director Victoria Hill is recruiting youth members, and has exciting developments planned! Youth memberships are open to children and youth up to 21 years old.
