This Mental Health Awareness Month, take a step outside. πŸŒΏβ˜€οΈ

Spending time in nature and staying physically active can support both physical and mental well-being for kids and families β€” yet children today spend an average of four hours a day on screens, while only about 1 in 5 get the recommended daily physical activity of 60 minutes.

This spring, help turn screen time into outdoor time with apps that encourage movement, exploration, and connection with nature. From finding local parks to identifying plants and wildlife, these tools can help make outdoor activity fun, engaging, and healthy for the whole family.

Swipe through for free apps that inspire outdoor play, healthier habits, and time spent connecting with the world around us. πŸŒŽπŸ’š

Join us this Saturday, May 16th from 10am-1pm for a workshop in invasive species management! Tending Rock Point is a series of workshops where we practice collaborative stewardship and reciprocity with the land at Rock Point. In this session we will take a tour through some sites where we are managing populations of what are commonly called "invasive" species. These are species that have been brought here recently by humans and have the capacity disrupt ecosystems by reproducing rapidly and out-competing native species. We will meet some of these species and learn how to identify them, we'll discuss our philosophy of management, and then choose an area to work on together for the remainder of our time. For more info & to register, visit rockpointvt.org/calendar.
