Some of our members, along with Chief Carter, were proud to attend Florida Fire Service Day at the Capitol this week in Tallahassee.

It was a great opportunity to stand alongside firefighters from across the state and advocate for the issues that matter most to our members and the communities we serve. We had the chance to meet with several of our legislators and discuss the importance of continued support for the fire service, public safety funding, and protections for those who put their lives on the line every day.

Events like this remind us how important it is to stay engaged in the legislative process and ensure the voices of Bradford County firefighters are heard.

This week, union leadership from all across the state came together in Tallahassee for a legislative conference to advocate for Florida’s professional firefighters.

The Professional Firefighters of Bradford County, Local 4315 had the opportunity to meet with Representative Chuck Brannan, who proudly represents Bradford County in the Florida House. Rep. Brannan has been a strong supporter of our firefighters and our community, and we’re grateful for his continued support.

We also want to thank all of the legislators who took the time to meet with union leadership, listen to our concerns, and engage in meaningful conversations about the issues that matter most to firefighters and public safety.

Awesome work by the crews on-scene keeping the high standard of care up for the citizens of Bradford County!

🩸FIRST BLOOD ADMINISTRATION👏

Just after midnight, units were dispatched to a single-vehicle crash. Crews arrived to find the vehicle heavily damaged with one person trapped inside. Firefighters went to work immediately, using extrication tools to quickly remove the driver of the vehicle.

Once extricated, the severely injured patient was loaded for rapid transport to a local trauma center. Based on the patient’s condition and life-threatening injuries, Paramedics made the critical decision to administer blood products in the field. This marks the first pre-hospital blood administration in Bradford County Fire Rescue’s history.

This milestone represents a major step forward in the care we can deliver. Hemorrhage is one of the most preventable causes of death, and having the ability to give blood before the patient ever reaches the hospital can be lifesaving.

We’re proud to bring this advanced level of care to the citizens and visitors of Bradford County. ❤️‍🩹
