10/10/2026

Local 4626 members assisted Gem County Fire-EMS yesterday with a 140 acre grass fire just north of our fire district boundary. Crews worked together to quickly contain the fire before it reached values at risk. We want to remind everyone that the vegetation out in the foothills are still extremely dry and receptive to any ignition source. Do not let the cooler weather fool you.

For the past 10 days, four Middleton-Star firefighters have been deployed to the "Big Grass Fire" burning along the Oregon-Idaho border. Our crews are currently filling one overhead position and staffing a Type 3 brush truck.

When they first arrived, the assignment focused heavily on structure protection . Working to prep and defend homes and buildings before the fire could reach them.

Recently, our crews were reassigned to the night shift. They are now working through the night to hold containment lines, which includes conducting critical burnout operations to reinforce existing lines in the area.

On 8/7/26 at approximately 3:19 PM, Middleton-Star firefighters were dispatched to the area of W State Street and N Quincannon Ln for a vehicle fire with possible explosions.

On arrival, crews found a fully involved utility van and trailer fire that had started to extend into a nearby building under construction. Due to the multiple explosions and barrels of chemicals on fire, crews deployed large master streams to cool the area and stabilize the incident before moving closer to cool hotspots.

During the incident, nearby businesses were evacuated prior to the situation being brought under control. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

All units are cleared and all roadways are reopened.

Crews responding to Large incident near highway 44 and Canada Rd. Expect closures in the area as crews work the scene.

Edit: Fire was contained to approximately 3.7 acres and fire units are clear of the area.

Middleton-Star firefighters and mutual aid partners are currently working a wildland urban interface incident in the area of Lanktree ln and Star Crest Ct. Crews have knocked down the bulk of the incident and are working to reinforce containment lines Please avoid the area.

Incident alert:

At approximately 1:25 a.m., Middleton/Star Fire Districts received a mutual aid request to assist with structure protection in the City of Weiser as a fast-moving wildland fire threatened the community. Crews responded to support local resources and help protect homes and property.

Then, at 6:33 a.m., Crews from Middleton/Star Fire Districts, Nampa Fire District, and Caldwell Fire Department responded to a reported residential structure fire. Crews arrived to find a working fire, and the incident was upgraded to a 2nd Alarm to bring in additional resources.

The fire has since been extinguished, and crews remain on scene conducting overhaul and investigating the cause.

We would like to extend a thank you to all of our mutual aid partners who responded into the Middleton/Star Fire District to cover additional emergencies while many of our resources were committed to these incidents.

Just after 5:30 AM this morning, June 6, Middleton-Star firefighters responded to an early morning structure fire on Indus Drive.

Crews arrived to find a working garage fire in a residential home. Firefighters worked quickly to extinguish the fire and prevent further damage to the home. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

Thank you to the mutual aid agencies who assisted with the incident: Eagle Fire District, Meridian Fire Department, Ada County Paramedics, Star Police Department.

04/12/2026

At 2:24 PM, Middleton-Star Firefighters were dispatched to a reported garage fire on Manchester Court in Middleton. Engine 52, already in the area returning from a previous call, arrived on scene within approximately three and a half minutes of dispatch.

Upon arrival, crews encountered heavy smoke conditions and an active fire in the garage. Firefighters worked to contain the fire to the garage, preventing further spread. However, smoke damage was reported in other areas of the home.

The affected family is receiving immediate assistance from the Middleton-Star Firefighters Burnout Fund. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Responding units included: Engine 52, Engine 13, Engine 11, Engine 53, Ladder 51, Truck 11, Battalion 51, Battalion 2, Chief 503, Medic 51, and Middleton Police Department.
