We spent Valentine’s Day
Refreshing our lifesaving skills!

Some of our members traded romance for CPR mannequins yesterday — and we wouldn’t have it any other way!

A huge THANK YOU to Shenandoah County Deputy Chief Courtney Cave for taking time to train and supporting our volunteers. We appreciate your time, leadership, and commitment to keeping our responders prepared.

Serving our community is what we love most. ❤️

What a night! Our community showed up in the best way — not just with full tables and laughter, but with the kind of spirit that reminds us why we love where we live. From the all of us behind the scenes to everyone who stopped in for dinner, thank you for supporting your local fire department. Every meal, every kind word, and every bit of help keeps us ready to serve when you need us most.

On behalf of the members of Star Tannery Volunteer Fire Department, we extend our deepest condolences to Chief Mabie’s family, friends, and our brothers and sisters in the fire service.

Chief Mabie dedicated his life to serving his community with courage, leadership, and compassion. His loss will be felt not only by his department, but by all of us in the fire service family.

Rest easy, Chief — we’ll take it from here.
