Embrace Your Faith Support Group - Star City Christian Faith-based Mental Health Support Group

06/18/2025

Tonight's topic was "Distracted by Distortions" where we discussed common thinking errors that affect our walk with God. We had a small group tonight but as usual the small group produced an abundance of feedback and meaningful discussion from participants. I enjoyed this very much and pray we can apply what we've discussed to improve our spiritual journey. Thank you to everyone who support Embrace Your Faith!

💫 After taking a break to seek more guidance and clarity from God, I'm excited to announce the first support group meeting of 2025. Please share & let me know if you have any questions or interested in attending.

More information:
■ Support group is not the same as a treatment group- this is just to have open discussion and support one another regarding our mental health and walks with Christ.
■ All are welcome to attend but please note this is Christian faith-based: we do use scripture and prayer during this meeting.
■ No one is required to speak, just listening is okay.
■ The meetings usually only last 1- 1.5 hours and usually this is a small group of people, very informal but loving atmosphere.
■ Confidentiality is strongly enforced through signing a contract and respecting one another's privacy.
■ Snacks and water provided

Please let me know if you have any more questions! Hope to see you there!

Thank you to everyone for the prayers. I do still have some symptoms but better than yesterday.

I feel disappointed that last night's group didn't happen because of my sickness. I had a lot planned for the final group of the year and with it being so close to the holidays, rescheduling isn't feasible. I will try my best to express my closing remarks on this page, which isn't ideal but there's no other formal way to get this message to most everyone who attends EYF in a timely manner. If there's someone you know that attends, please share this with them.

I am so grateful for the opportunity to have facilitated this group over the year 2024. I have learned new things, grew spiritually, and connected with new people that have been tremendous blessings. The goal of this group is to bridge the gap between mental health and spirituality.

Throughout the course of 2024, EYF held 15 meetings and had a total of 37 members attend over the year, with an average attendance of 10 people per meeting. Holly Springs MBC warmly held facility for the group to take place and there were many volunteers who helped set up, provided snacks/water, and helped in other ways to make this group process possible. There were three special guest speakers over the year who came to speak about Mindfully following Jesus, Trauma Responses, and Grief and all were greatly appreciated for volunteering their time and knowledge.

There are currently no meetings scheduled for 2025. I plan to take a break to reflect over the 2024 year and contemplate on ways to increase awareness of the group or gain more community involvement. I plan to spend this break seeking spiritual growth and guidance along with what would be helpful topics for future meetings. If you've attended EYF and can think of ways to improve the group experience, I would love to hear your feedback or suggestions.

Again, very much appreciative of all who have prayed for, supported and participated in EYF this year. You all have been a tremendous blessing! May God be with you during this holiday season and New Year. 🤍 - Tori

The take away from Tuesday night's group:

Peace from God is like no other peace we can find- so much so that it may seem incomprehensible to us at times. Many things can shake our inner peace but we must never forget that Jesus has overcome this world. He told us we would have trials and tribulations but with our Faith and the grace given to us we know the end game and that alone is a peaceful thought.

Next and last meeting: December 10, 2024
