Everyday Marvelous Mentors share a meal with students in Staples-Motley, and it is such a joy 💙💚
Today I met with my buddy and we talked about traveling, taxes and building robots! My favorite part though was when the student said, “Why don’t we get paid?”
I gave her a quizzical look and asked, “What do you mean?”
“Well, the teachers just teach, and we do all the work, so why don’t we get paid?”
My insides did this 😂😳🥰🙂↔️
I was a teacher for 15 years, so “ JUST teaching” does not encompass the work that goes into organizing, creating, nurturing ,and a million other things a teacher does every day. Yet, students do WORK HARD too, so her wondering made me smile and gave me a glimpse into the perspective of a young learner!
These are the precious moments we get to experience each day as meals are shared and relationships grow 💙💚
