We are deeply saddened to share that our longtime club member, Dave Mertens, passed away Thursday morning. Dave’s kindness, steady presence, and love of dancing touched so many of us. Please keep his family and friends in your thoughts during this difficult time. 💙

We are saddened to hear about the passing of square dance caller Royce Nelson.

Royce brought so much fun and energy to the dance floor throughout the years. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome, and we’ll always remember the good times dancing to his calls.

Laurie Ann and Elisa Mae are former Wadena Whirlaways members before they moved to the Alexandria area.
They are performing in a play together!

The show, directed by Donna Magnuson, will open on Thursday, Feb. 1, at 7 p.m.

Square dancers from Underwood, Brainerd, Park Rapids and Staples gathered together Saturday with his former customers, neighbors and the family to remember and celebrate the life of Franklin Cerney who passed away October 13, 2023. Franklin was a long-time member and former officer of Wadena Whirlaways. He will be greatly missed!
