Excited to see Jaycees from around the state this weekend as we gather to celebrate accomplishments, new TOYM honorees and take part in electing members who will make up JCI MN 2023 Executive team!

Warning: Long, but meaningful post ahead.

In one of the previous caucuses I had mentioned that my primary focus apart from growing our membership is to provide our members with a Phenomenal Membership Experience. So what does this mean you may ask?

It's a detailed answer but simply, it means I want to put YOU, the members FIRST.

I want to ensure your membership is adding value to your life and that we are creating strong bonds between JCI Minnesota and its members.

I want you to feel empowered and supported on your leadership journey. We will do this by fostering your growth, in turn furthering our mission of providing development opportunities to empower young people to create positive change. I want to see you step out of your comfort zone and working towards achieving your full potential. We have amazing members who are doing great things that are worth investing in.

My main goal, beyond seeing JCI Minnesota grow, is better understanding my members. 3 goals to do this are:

1. Conducting advanced surveys: This would be a complete change to surveys we have done in the past. This would ask questions such as "Why did you join?", "What are some barriers you are facing?", "How has success in JCI impacted you?" and would more specifically ask them about questions they had or feelings at certain points of their membership. We also need to ensure we are conducting an Annual membership needs assessment. For the membership to provide feedback, this adds value. When we actively listen to this feedback, take it and create positive change through action, we are also delivering value.

2. Regular Satisfaction Surveys: These surveys would be conducted at minimum 4 times a year to ensure we are giving the members what they are not only needing but wanting.

3. Improved Communication across the board. One of the most common things I have heard as I campaign is concerns about communication. We want to ensure communication is clear and makes sense for the membership. This is a part of continuous process improvement and I will work hard to see this improved.

Simply put, we need to start personalizing membership to make JCI Minnesota stand out as THE BEST young active citizens organization to be a part of to ensure our continued survival as an organization.

I want to reduce barriers our membership is experiencing to the best of my ability.

I want to refresh and breathe new life into our solid programming, creating new events that the members want.

The time is now to actively seek out and create sustainable partnerships with other nonprofits, organizations and corporations.

I want to invest in the members who give so much to this organization. I want to help them with finding educational resources, online learning opportunities and bringing in engaging speakers to further add value,.

I want to work with the help of our Membership VP and National Membership Team to make GlueUp easier to understand and less of a barrier. I want to ensure we find the root cause and we work to eliminate barriers.

JCI Minnesota, we have so much potential, and with You and Me in 23, there isn't anything we can’t do. Lets work together to strengthen JCI Minnesota and show others how this is an amazing organization to be a part of.

Members who have been with JCI probably remember the original Active Citizen Framework.

Members voiced the need for the ACF to be revised and cleaned up, making it much easier to understand, follow and utilize in our Jaycee paths. JCI heard its members and delivered.

This weekend, I was humbled to be able to introduce this amazing human being, teammate, friend and fellow Jaycee to the members of JCI USA and then witness her be elected as one of 6 NVPs for JCI USA in 2023!

Her passion and drive for the Jaycees is so unique and special.

I’m so thankful for her and all the advice she has given me over the years. It’s been so wonderful working with her and there has been many times, more than I can count, where without her encouragement and pushing me to get out of my comfort zone, I wouldn’t be where I am at today.

Jaycees, our future is bright and I can’t wait to see what these amazing leaders do in 2023!

Was great getting to attend JCI Hopkins General Membership meeting tonight! Loved getting to hear more about upcoming events and talk with some of their amazing members including a prospective member!

One of the best parts of being a Jaycee is getting to do it as a family!

My daughter Libby has been a member of the Brainerd Junior Jaycees going on 3 years and this is my first year as a Brainerd Jaycee!

We love getting out on the Road and visiting other Jaycee chapters around state, helping provide manpower for their various events!

One of our favorite things to help with is camp clean up at Confidence Learning Center, one of our longest continuous running priority projects for JCI Minnesota!

As summer starts to wind down, we have more trips to chapters planned! Excited to keep connecting with our members and hearing their ideas for our organization!

Had a great time attending Mid America Annual Workshop in Rosemont, Illinois this past weekend!

Was nice to connect and reconnect with other Jaycees in attendance, as well as, attend some great trainings and be included with other outstanding up and coming leaders during Speaker Showcase.

It was great to hear inspiring words from JCI VP Franco Cagnotti as well who was in attendance this past weekend!

It always fills my cup to be around other like minded individuals and reminds me of why I joined this organization. I can’t wait to keep having experiences like this that will help me be the best leader I can be for my state and the valuable members that I serve!
