We had a spooky good time at the Halloween Howl event at the Edmonds Off-Leash Dog Park last Saturday! Despite the chilly wind, the sun was shining, and so many wonderful people and their pups braved the elements to join the fun! We loved chatting about Boxers, sharing our passion for rescue, and meeting so many fellow dog lovers. ❤️ Even better, we raised $166 for Boxers who need us! 🐾💜🐾

The costume contest was super fun and some of our alumni came to join in on the fun…

🧙‍♀️Vixen was an adorable little witch, while her brother Philip looked incredibly handsome in his tuxedo!🤵

🌪️Zya stole the show as the Tin Man, accompanied by her people, Brenda and Rick, who dressed as Dorothy and the Scarecrow from The Wizard of Oz!

🩷Cali and her mom, Heidi, brought a little bit of the movie Grease to Halloween as the Pink Ladies!

We would like to send out HUGE THANKS to our awesome volunteers who helped make the day a success: Heidi, Christoffer, Peggy, Heather, Brenda, and Rick. We simply couldn’t participate in these fun events without the hard work of dedicated volunteers!

That’s a wrap on our in-person events for this year, so we’ll see ya out and about in 2027!! 🥰🐾🥰

Please meet Hoagie! He is a handsome Boxer boy, approximately 4–5 years old, neutered, current on his vaccines, microchipped, and he’s being fostered in Coarsegold, CA.

Hoagie is ready to find his forever home and family! This sweet guy loves his people and has plenty of affection to share. He’s a big fan of giving kisses, cuddling, and being close to the humans he loves. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will happily keep you company and soak up all of the love you have to give, Hoagie could be your perfect match!

Hoagie walks nicely on a leash without pulling much and does well with house-life.

This handsome fella is looking for a home where he can be the only dog so that he can enjoy being the center of attention and have his people all to himself.

Could Hoagie be the missing piece of your family? Give this sweet Boxer a chance to fill your home with unconditional love! If Hoagie sounds like the pup for you, please get your application in today – www.mustluvboxersrescue.com/adopt.

We have TWO sponsorship opportunities for you in our 2027 MLBR Calendar – Month Sponsor and General Sponsorship. How cool would it be to have you or your pup be the sponsor of a specific month or have your name or business name/logo listed on our sponsor page?!? The $$ brought in from the purchase of the Sponsorships helps to offset the printing costs for the calendars which then allows the rescue to reap the full profit from calendar sales. Just click below to get your space reserved!

✨It's time for our 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐥𝐲 𝐅𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭!!✨ October's feature is all about another one of our awesome foster families, Lee and Cary Hoffer.

If these monthly spotlights inspire you to want to give fostering a try, we would love to hear from you, as we are always in need of more foster homes. 💗🐾💗

𝑸. 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒅𝒐𝒆𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒎𝒆𝒂𝒏 𝒕𝒐 𝒚𝒐𝒖?
𝐀. It means that we have potentially saved a life, and a chance to give a dog an opportunity to find their perfect home. Once a foster dog settles and relaxes, their personalities start to show, and it's so fun getting to know different pups' personalities. It is also rewarding to know that we are able to give a dog the opportunity for a happy forever after.

𝑸. 𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝒅𝒐 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒇𝒐𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒓?
𝐀. There are so many good dogs out there that need a second chance at life. There are many at risk of being euthanized just due to the lack of space at shelters or their owners do not have the means to care for them, among other reasons. Fostering not only saves lives but dogs are given a place to be safe and loved.

𝑸. 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒔𝒂𝒚 𝒕𝒐 𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒇𝒐𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆?
𝐀. People often say they could never foster because they will not be able to give a foster dog up. That certainly happens but being able to let a foster dog go opens up a spot for another dog to be saved. We would prefer our hearts break a little when they leave for their forever homes rather than knowing inaction could cost a life.

𝑸. 𝑨𝒏𝒚𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒆𝒍𝒔𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒔𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒆?
𝐀. The benefits of fostering far outweigh the uncertainty. It is such a great feeling knowing that we helped prepare a foster dog for a better life. It is also very important to be patient and loving as we often do not know what a dog has actually experienced before landing with us.

We love getting adopter updates at any time, no need to wait for a major milestone to share your sweet pup with us. Here’s a quick look into life with MLBR alumni Juno, from dad, Chase…

"In late August, we hit our 3-month mark with Juno (formerly Preslee). She’s been the sweetest girl we could have asked for and she’s been the perfect fit. Katie and I are so happy to have her as a part of our family!”

We love it!!! Yay for Juno, what a lucky girl to have a family that loves her so very much!
