IREM Western Washington and Washington Multi-Family Housing Association are proud to be collaborating on an upcoming Lunch & Learn event featuring Gregg Colburn, associate professor of real estate at the University of Washington’s College of Built Environments. This talk & Q&A sponsored by Apartments.com, Sherwin-Williams, & James King Roofing, LLC will dive into how structural factors explain U.S. patterns and why homelessness is a housing problem. Our Industry Partner friends, Sherwin-Williams is hosting both a Uniflex Roof Seminar and a demo next week. While not IREM sponsored events, they would love to have maintenance and property management professionals come learn how they can elevate their roof’s longevity and performance.

This will be an educational seminar and Happy Hour, hosted by Sherwin-Williams. You will learn about the Uniflex Coating Systems – designed to protect commercial and residential flat roofs, eliminate water intrusion, save you from full roof tear-offs, reduce energy consumption across properties, and minimize tenant disruption during the project. What's a little friendly competition among peers? Our Region 12 Leadership Retreat featured a team building Holy Guacamole Showdown! Randomly generated teams comprised of Members & Industry Partners started with the same base ingredients with room to add their own twist to their culinary masterpiece. Intermittent trivia questions added an additional scoring element and a chance to earn bonus points. Each team nominated a captain who then participated in a blind taste test and scored every team's offering.

We had a great time learning about the ins and outs of the Portal Container Village at the Port of Bellingham. This unique property features so many local small businesses and artists from Bellingham and beyond and will host many fun festivals and events throughout the remaining season. There are so many expansions and amenities to come! Special thanks to our hosts Carey Hansen who manages the property & Mike Hogan from the Port of Bellingham. “Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life.”

Today was an ode to gratitude and community as several busy outfits came together to make a difference for one of IREM Western Washington’s favorite local organizations, .

Our valued Industry Partner, helped coordinate and tackle so many projects today! installed a baby bath station for the tiny residents of facility. Jeff Dupont of created a green screen wall for teen residents to create Tik Tok Videos while helped get the grounds cleaned up.

A special thanks to for sponsoring shirts for our day of volunteering AND for coming in clutch for our Chapter when a large online t-shirt ordering company lost our shirts and we were scrambling for replacements. They took on the challenge and came through with an impressive turnaround while most others balked at our rush order request.
