Ate too much turkey? Get outside for a different kind of leg day! 🦃🍗🦵

For this we are encouraging you to get out of the house and come visit Knife River Indian Villages National Historic Site! We are the perfect place to get outside as we have over 12 miles of trail for you to explore.

This photo was taken on our most popular trail, the village trail, which is just over a mile round trip, with benches along the way. While on this trail you are able to view two village sites, our reconstructed earth lodge and the beautiful Knife River. There is also interpretive signage along the way.

When your done you can come and warm up in the visitor center. Don't forget to check out our park film and awesome exhibits, as we are back open today, so come say hi!

Vibes 🍂

Below is a photograph of our front entrance taken about a week and a half ago. Unfortunately, we don’t have many beautiful fall leaves on trees left as we’ve had some wicked winds recently. However, you still can come out and enjoy the fall vibes in our park with

🍂Crunchy leaves

🧥The perfect sweater weather- you won’t get too hot!

😃Less crowded/busy visitor center

☕Cozy mugs available for purchase to remember your visit and enjoy a warm beverage at home.

🥾Dry and quiet trails- (over 12 miles worth)

If you think pumpkin spice is nice, grab your latte to go as the closest coffee stop is about 15 miles away, and experience the park in the fall!
