We came together for a Tuesday Workshop focused on making healthy meals feel affordable and manageable.

With support from UT TSU Extension Haywood County, neighbors shared a meal and explored meal planning, grocery shopping, and building nutritious meals while maintaining a budget. From learning how to efficiently stretch a grocery budget to sharing ideas on how to make mealtime easier week-to-week, there was something for everyone.

We are grateful to support workshops like this alongside partners who continue to provide resources that support the well-being of the community.

Choose your pace:
Short walk: Community Center to Summit Road and back.
Medium walk: Community Center to Hopson Lane and back.
Long walk: Full loop with rest stops, snacks, and drinks along the way.

Fayette County Public Schools is offering a summer feeding program from May 28th to July 16th to ensure children in our community continue to have access to nutritious meals while school is out of session.

Three breakfasts and three lunches per child will be available for pick up on Mondays, and four breakfasts and four lunches per child will be available for pick up on Thursdays.

School breakfast and lunch play an important role in daily nutrition, and this program is designed to bridge that gap by offering healthy meals during the summer months. Pick up will be:

May 28 - July 16
Every Monday and Thursday
11:30 AM - 12:30 PM

Sites serving summer meals:
Buckley-Carpenter Elementary
Lagrange-Moscow Elementary
West Junior High

Meals must be picked up by the parent or guardian of each family. Register for your summer meals at bit.ly/49cFndx.

At the Ford Community Center, we are glad to partner with American Job Center to support individuals who are building skills, exploring career paths, and working toward new opportunities.

American Job Centers offer a range of no-cost services designed to meet people where they are. From access to computers, phones, and internet to hands-on support with resumé writing, interview preparation, and job search strategies, their team helps make the process feel more approachable and achievable.

They also host recruiting events, workshops, and training opportunities that connect individuals to careers that are in demand across our region.
