We've been a little quiet on socials lately, but for good reason!

Staff training 2026 is officially underway and our crew have been busy exploring trails, visiting historic sites, practicing programs, and learning from USFS staff, board members, tribal members, and local experts to be ready for meeting visitors this summer in the Sawtooth NRA. Thank you to everyone for helping share your knowledge with our incoming staff.

We're excited to see you when we open at the Stanley Muesum and Redfish Visitor Center and Gallery on June 12th!

You’ve probably already seen the Stanley School, Mountain Village, the Hatchery and Idaho Rocky staff tending to their sections of highway. On June 6th, we are going to keep the trend going and hit inside City limits and other sections of highway to remove the trash that accumulated over the winter.

The Sawtooth Association, City of Stanley, and the Sawtooth Valley Gathering are teaming up for a clean-up day on June 6th from 10am-4pm. Meet us at the Community Building to get your work assignment!

***There is a special perk this year*** Spend 5 hours volunteering during the clean up and earn a Day Pass to the 11th annual Sawtooth Valley Gathering, June 18-21!

Join the Sawtooth Society on June 13th for even more roadside clean up in their sections of Highway near Smiley Creek and Blind Summit.

The Stanley Museum will be open Memorial Day weekend! Join us from 10am-5pm each day thanks to our board members volunteering to staff the space.

Check out some of the new books and goodies we have onsite and admire our new built-in display shelves in the bookstore! We are so lucky to have local crafters who will put up with our outlandish ideas and completely exceed our expectations bringing them to life!

You did it!

We know there are a lot of important places to put your dollars and your time in 2026. We also know that you love the Sawtooths and Idaho as much as we do and care about preserving and protecting our state's special places.

Thanks to your generosity we raised $10, 095! SIHA has been serving the Sawtooth NRA since 1972 and because of your support, financially and otherwise, we can continue to show up for the visitors, the land, and you.

Our giveaway winners will be announced next week. Thanks to SVG for the fun prize incentive and to our generous donor for a match to help us double our dollars this Idaho Gives.

We're grateful to each and every one of you! 🫶

Today is the last day of Idaho Gives!

Over the past few days, we’ve shared what SIHA does—but at its core, this work is about something simple:

It’s about people.

It’s the conversations at the visitor center, the games and laughs during Junior Rangers.
The stories shared at the museum about family history and childhood memories.
The moment someone feels more connected to this place than when they arrived, the feelings of being welcome and belonging.

Those moments don’t happen on their own. They happen because people like you choose support them. If SIHA has been part of your experience here, or if you believe in helping others connect more deeply to the Sawtooths, we’d be grateful for your support today.

✨ Donations are matched up to $5,000
🎟️ Gifts of $25+ are entered to win Sawtooth Valley Gathering tickets

There’s still time to give—help us finish strong. To all who have already donated, thank you!

We all have different reasons we give.

For some, it's about preserving the past. Sharing stories, artifacts, culture, and relationships to the land. For others, it's about protecting the future. Helping the next generation learn, explore, and care for this place and ensuring the land is healthy and accessible. Sometimes it's about community. Getting together to talk, learning about new perspectives and experiences, deepening our connections to each other and place.

During Idaho Gives, every gift, every reason, no matter how big or small, grand or simple, is appreciated. We'd love to know - what are some of the reasons you give to SIHA?

To all who have already donated and to all who may yet, we thank you! Your gifts help us continue to serve the Sawtooths.

Idaho Gives is live!

For over 50 years, SIHA has been helping people connect more deeply to the Sawtooths—through stories, education, history, and time spent in this place. When someone comes to the Sawtooth NRA, whether it's their first time or their fiftieth time, we help them feel welcomed, informed, and like they belong. As staffing shortaages continue, it's more important than ever for SIHA to be able to continue our work.

If SIHA has been part of your experience here, we’d be grateful for your support today. And thanks to a generous $5,000 donor match, your dollars go even further when you give now through Maay 7th.

Thank you for your support and we can't wait to get into the swing of summer!
