Introducing our newest publication: "Only in Stanley, Wisconsin" by Betty Plombon, museum director. Searching through mountains of notes about the early days of Stanley, Wisconsin, Betty found stories that have never been published in their entirety due to their controversial nature. Prepare yourself to embark on a journey that reveals interesting and previously hidden aspects of Stanley's history. Watch Betty's book presentation in the Featured section on this page, then stop by the museum on Tuesdays from 9-11 through December, weather permitting, to get your copies. You also can visit https://www.stanleyareahistoricalsociety.org/bookstore to learn more and find out how to get copies mailed to you if you're unable to get them in person.

Calling all Stanley alumni! If you're in Stanley for the 13th Annual All-Class Alumni Reunion, we'd love for you to stop by the museum Saturday, Oct. 4, from 9–11 a.m. and again from 1–5 p.m. (Note: the 5 p.m. closing time is tentative, so come early.) Come say hello to alum Jim Ericksen, who will be there to greet you!

We'll also have our two newest books available:
• "Only in Stanley"
• "Vintage Views of Stanley Wisconsin Brought to Life With Color"

Don't miss your chance to visit the museum during our last weekend of regular hours in 2025 — Saturday, Sept. 27, and Sunday, Sept. 28, from 1-4 p.m. We're also open special hours on Saturday, Oct. 4, in honor of the Annual All-Class Alumni Reunion. You'll want to check out the vintage wedding dress display and look through old Stanley-Boyd Annuals!

Summer hours are ending soon, but our museum will be open extra hours — from 9–11 a.m. and 1 p.m.–? — on Saturday, Oct. 4. Stop by the museum during the 13th Annual All-Class Alumni Reunion to take a walk down memory lane and explore artifacts from the city where you spent your high school years. We'll also have our two newest books available: "Only in Stanley" and "Vintage Views of Stanley Wisconsin Brought to Life With Color." Take a copy home so you can flip through them anytime you feel nostalgic! We hope to see you there!

If you are able, stop by the Museum at 228 Helgerson St, Stanley, WI to view and/or purchase a soft cover edition. This book is compiled by Dave Plummer in collaboration with Stanley Area Historical Society. All are welcome to come by and listen to Dave Plummer and Dave Jankoski present a brief introduction.
