The organization at Stanford University for Hmong students and allies with interest in Hmong culture.

The Stanford Hmong Student Union (HSU) was founded in October 2007 by undergraduates interested in building a supportive community for Hmong students contemplating or currently attending Stanford; networking and collaborating with other Hmong groups and organizations; promoting awareness of Hmong ethnic identity at Stanford; and educating the greater campus and community about Hmong culture, histo

ry, issues and contemporary experiences in the United States. Some of the events we sponsor include our springtime SHOPPE (Stanford Hmong Outreach Program Promoting Education), HmongX (based on TEDx), and the Stanford HSU Admit Weekend Dinner for ProFros and parents.

🌱SHOPPE 2026: Roots & Routes🌱

What a day to remember.

This year, we gathered at Stanford on a Saturday to learn, connect, laugh, and grow together. Through panel discussions, campus exploration, scavenger hunts, shared meals, and meaningful conversations, we hope every mentee left with new memories, new friendships, and a deeper sense of possibility for their future.

To our mentors, thank you for sharing your stories, wisdom, and encouragement. Your guidance helps pave the way for the next generation.

To our mentees, thank you for showing up with curiosity, courage, and open hearts. We can't wait to see where your journeys take you.

And of course, a huge thank you to our incredible SHOPPE 2026 coordinators and community partners for making this program possible.❤️

As we reflect on our roots and look ahead to the many routes before us, we're reminded that no one walks their path alone.

April marks HMong Heritage Month, a time to honor our history, our resilience, and the generations who came before us. The Stanford HMong Student Union celebrates by uplifting the stories rooted in our families. These photos are more than memories. They are reflections of love, sacrifice, and the journeys that made our presence here possible.

As HMong students at Stanford, we recognize that our ability to learn, grow, and be here is deeply connected to the courage and sacrifices of our parents, grandparents, and ancestors. Their stories live through us.

admitted to Stanford’s Class of 2030 🎉

Stanford’s Hmong Student Union invites all admits to our admit welcome event! Time and Location is currently TBD but be on the lookout for updates! We will be hosting various fun games and activities with snacks and drinks. This is also an opportunity for admits to ask current students any questions about college, being Hmong at Stanford, and more!
