🌱 Big things are growing in Stamps! 🌱

Yesterday was a great and productive meeting as we took the next steps toward launching our community garden right here at 240 Church Street, behind the Books From Bobby main location (home of our food pantry).

We spent time:
βœ”οΈ Measuring the space (88ft long and 26 ft wide)
βœ”οΈ Planning the layout
βœ”οΈ Creating a list of materials and supplies needed.

The list will be available soon. We are reaching out to local businesses and community partners.

This garden will be more than just a place to grow food β€” it will be a space for learning, community, and access to fresh, healthy options for families in our area.

We’re building something special in Stamps, and we’re just getting started.

If you’re interested in volunteering, donating materials, or partnering with us, stay tuned, inbox us β€” more details coming soon!

About the Documentary

Run, Hide, Fight: Growing Up Under the Gun follows young people navigating the realities of gun violence and exploring how they are organizing, advocating, and supporting one another.

Gun violence remains the leading cause of death for American children and teens (CDC, 2022). This documentary passes the microphone to students themselvesβ€”centering their voices, their fears, their resilience, and their leadership.

What does it mean to grow up in a generation shaped by the threat of school shootings and random acts of violence? This film invites audiences to listen, reflect, and find hope in youth-led action.

Community Discussion

Following the screening, local leaders, educators, and youth representatives will facilitate a guided conversation to:

- Reflect on the themes of the film

- Provide space for youth voices

- Discuss how Stamps can support safe, healthy environments for young people

- Identify practical next steps as a community

This event is open to parents, students, educators, faith leaders, and all community members.

Let’s show up. Let’s listen. Let’s lead together.
