✨ A New Era is Unfolding for Stamford Carnegie Library! ✨

For more than a century, the Stamford Carnegie Library has stood at the heart of our community. Now, a long-envisioned renovation is closer than ever to becoming a reality.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, donors, foundations, and philanthropic partners, we are nearing our fundraising goal! As we reach this exciting milestone, we will soon begin the process of temporarily relocating the library and preparing for construction to begin.

This renovation will preserve the history and character of our treasured Carnegie building while transforming it into a more modern, accessible, and welcoming space that can serve Stamford for generations to come.

But this project is about much more than renovating a building. ❤️

The Stamford Carnegie Library continues to expand the programs and resources available to our community, including children’s literacy and summer programs, 1000 Books Before Kindergarten, technology assistance, digital literacy education, adult education and GED support, tutoring opportunities, eBooks and audiobooks, community events, and expanded access to technology and digital resources.

The renovated library will give us improved spaces to grow these programs, create new opportunities for learning and connection, and better meet the changing needs of our community.

We are incredibly grateful to the donors, foundations, community partners, board members, city leaders, patrons, and residents who have helped bring this vision so close to reality. Your support is helping preserve an important piece of Stamford’s history while ensuring that our library continues to have a meaningful place in our community’s future.

There is still work to be done as we close the remaining gap toward our goal, but this is an exciting moment for Stamford Carnegie Library. The next chapter is about to begin — moving, construction, and ultimately reopening a library designed to serve our community for many years to come.
