Our 2026 Annual Unico Italian Open Golf Tournament was a success! 🇮🇹⛳️

We had an incredible day on the course surrounded by our amazing supporters, friends, and members of the Unico community. Thank you to everyone who came out and helped make this year’s tournament such a memorable one!

One of our most memorable hole sponsor signs at this year‘s golf event came from the Nino Antonelli Scholarship Fund. This fund is in honor of the late Nino Antonelli who was a longtime member of Unico and great supporter of the Italian American community. Nino exhibited the values of Unico, service above self with an unselfish commitment to the community. The Nino Antonelli fund donated $5000 this year to a local high school student of Italian American heritage. The student who received his scholarship had just recently lost her mother and had lost her father four years prior. All throughout, she maintained a very high grade point average and is now attending Quinnipiac University on a scholarship. This is the type of charity that defines Unico’s purpose. We thank you Nino and your family. 🇺🇸🇮🇹🇺🇸🇮🇹

Thanks to our good friends at Stamford Vision Care on Newfield Avenue, especially Frank R. Vartuli, Stamford‘s most famous and favorite optician , who has been a loyal and enthusiastic contributor to Unico‘s causes throughout the years. Frankie is always willing to donate his time and resources to us and we love and appreciate him for all that he does. Chef Enzo Cardillo helping Unico prepare the food for our 2026 Italian Open Golf Dinner and fundraising event at the Greek Church in Stamford. Amazing night with record-breaking attendance for this event. Enzo was on loan to us from Rico‘s Pizza 🍕 . Enzo has been helping us for the last four years by preparing and cooking the porchettas which would donate it to unicorn by our good friend ENNIO Dinino! From his younger years to his adult years, Anthony V. Mallozzi, Owner of AVM Construction in Stamford Ct., has developed his skills and expertise in carpentry and construction. Anthony began learning his trade from his late Father Antonio Mallozzi who immigrated here from Minturno, Italy. While carefully watching and always wanting to be in construction like his Father, Anthony learned more than just how to fix and build things from Antonio, he was also taught lessons of integrity, hard work, and taking pride in all that you do. These Italian American values resonate with Anthony today and has helped him build AVM Construction into a highly reputable and successful general contracting business serving lower Fairfield County.
