What a morning!

Our pantry shelves are filling up thanks to an incredible team of volunteers who came together to stock thousands of pounds of donated food at Catholic Charities Stamford, home of New Covenant Center.

This week's donation of 25,000 pounds of shelf-stable food from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, through its partnership with JustServe and America250's America Gives initiative, will help provide nutritious food to families across Fairfield County. Today, volunteers rolled up their sleeves to organize the pantry and prepare for the opening of our new regional center.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who gave their time and energy to make this possible. Thank you to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, JustServe, America250, and every volunteer who helped transform this generous donation into hope for our neighbors.

Breakfasts at New Covenant Center are a prideful undertaking of recent New Covenant Center Founder’s Award recipient, Bobby Anderson. Our longtime Tuesday breakfast crew of Laura and Dean Copeland (left), and Hank and Joan Berkley (right) are incredibly dedicated to not only providing a healthy meal with various offerings, but Laura brings flowers from her garden and fruit, to complement our offerings every week. Several guests take the time to appreciate the flowers and effort.

Many thanks to the Berkleys, Copelands and the many other volunteers that give their time and talents to the breakfast program!

"I'm not a guest. I'm family."

Those six words have stayed with volunteer Bobby Anderson ever since she heard them while serving breakfast at New Covenant Center.

When Bobby received the 2026 Founder's Award at our Summer Soirée, she reminded us that every meal served is about more than food. It's about recognizing each person's dignity. It's about remembering who likes an extra egg, who wants the cheese on the side, or who needs yogurt for their child. Those small acts tell someone, "I see you. You matter."

Every morning, volunteers and staff work together to ensure that every guest receives not only a warm meal, but also a warm welcome.

Because when people are treated with compassion, something extraordinary happens. Strangers become neighbors. Guests become family.

As we prepare for our future home, your prayers, volunteerism, and generosity will help ensure this family continues to grow.

Thank you for making this mission possible.

P.S. Dear Connecticut Magazine... if you ever introduce a "Best Free Breakfast" award, we'd be honored to be considered. Our guests already know who's #1.

As we look back on our Summer Soirée, we are filled with gratitude for the incredible community that came together to make the evening so meaningful.

On June 12, supporters, volunteers, sponsors, and friends of New Covenant Center gathered to celebrate a shared commitment to serving our neighbors with dignity, compassion, and hope. Every conversation, every act of generosity, and every show of support reflected what is possible when a community comes together for those in need.

We were honored to welcome Joe Girardi as our special guest and grateful that he took the time to visit New Covenant Center before the event to see our mission in action. We also proudly presented the 10th Annual Founder's Award to Bobby Anderson in recognition of more than 35 years of dedicated volunteer service. Nick Greco's powerful story reminded us that every meal served and every helping hand offered has the power to change a life.

To everyone who attended, sponsored, volunteered, donated, and supported the Summer Soirée, thank you. Your generosity extends far beyond one evening. It provides meals, offers hope, and ensures that our doors remain open to every person who turns to New Covenant Center for help.

Because of you, lives are being changed every day. Thank you for believing in our mission and for walking alongside us as we continue this important work.
