After months of preparation , I am thrilled and honored to report The 2026 Stamford Hibernian Association golf tournament was a great success.

Nearly 100 golfers enjoyed an assortment of contests and opportunities to win a number of great raffle prizes.

As promised, it was a fantastic summer day of golfing and Irish cheer while raising funds to support the Hibernian Association and The Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County.โ˜˜๏ธ๐ŸŒ๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธ

๐Ÿ† Today, Croke Park hosts another chapter in one of Gaelic football's greatest rivalries as Kerry and Mayo meet in the 2026 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Final.

This is the fifth time the counties have faced each other in an All-Ireland final, and their 31st championship meeting overall. Kerry hold the historical edge, leading the rivalry with 20 championship victories to Mayo's six, while four encounters have finished level.

Their championship story began more than 120 years ago. The sides first met in the 1903 championship, when Kerry won the All-Ireland semi-final by 2-07 to 0-04, beginning one of Gaelic football's most enduring rivalries.

For Mayo supporters, today is about more than another final. It is another chance to end a wait for Sam Maguire that stretches back to 1951 and, perhaps, finally lay to rest the famous "Mayo curse" - the long-standing piece of GAA folklore said to have followed the county since that last All-Ireland triumph. Whether you believe in the curse or not, it has become part of the story that surrounds every Mayo final.

Will Kerry add another title to their remarkable history, or will Mayo write one of the greatest chapters in the county's sporting story?

Who are you backing today?

โ›ฐ๏ธ Today is Reek Sunday in Ireland.

Each year on the last Sunday of July, thousands of pilgrims make the climb to the summit of Croagh Patrick in County Mayo, following a tradition that stretches back many generations.

The mountain has long been a place of pilgrimage and reflection. According to tradition, Saint Patrick spent forty days fasting and praying on its summit, and for centuries people have climbed "the Reek" in faith, gratitude, remembrance, or simply to find a moment of peace above the noise of everyday life.

Some walk barefoot as an act of devotion. Others come with family and friends, carrying prayers for loved ones or remembering those who can no longer make the journey. Whatever the reason, the climb remains one of Ireland's most enduring spiritual traditions.

Today, as pilgrims make their way to the summit overlooking Clew Bay, they continue a journey that has connected generations through faith, perseverance, and hope.

May all those making the climb today have a safe journey and a peaceful return.
