Mission Statement:
Access to music and the arts affords people the opportunity of a positive experience from which they may previously be excluded. This exclusion may be due to many factors, including a geographical location, economic or educational disadvantage, disability, age, or lack of any previous musical or artistic experience or exposure

. THE COMMUNITY MUSIC AND ARTS NETWORK SEEKS TO:
1. Develop the provision of live music and promote the appreciation of music in local communities, including the establishment of pilot community music programs that serve those under-served populations living in geographically isolated and/or economically challenged areas.

2. Provide performance, community music facilitation, and teaching opportunities for teaching artists, musicians and composers to reach a wider audience, to include school children, elderly, senior living centers, nursing and rehabilitation homes, hospital, hospice, disabled agencies, correctional facility, and community service outreach.

3. Create a research and development network to explore new and appropriate models for community music development and to share advancements in the fields of music therapy and education applications for music. This network may include an online global platform where community music organizations, artists, musicians, researchers, and consumers can connect.

4. Support the creation and production of new creative, educational, artistic or socially/culturally important works with artist in residencies, artist housing and workspace, fellowships, commissions, and fiscal sponsorship/grant writing.

5. Advocate cooperative music initiatives by partnering with agencies and organizations that seek the same goals, creating alliances for multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural collaborations.
