Meet our Social Media Co-Chair, Zana! ✨
(Fun fact: she actually filmed this video at our PCRF launch party!)

Zana brings an unmatched, vibrant energy to our team. She’s the kind of genuine, big-hearted friend who might arrive fashionably late, but always shows up with massive trays of Layla’s Falafel to feed everyone with love. ❤️🥙

Having grown up during the Bosnian war, Zana understands the impact of conflict firsthand. Her own journey inspired years of volunteering with orphans, moving to the US on her own, and building a career in healthcare. Today, she’s a proud mom, a youth mental health professional, and a Master’s student.

Driven by deep compassion for Gaza and a love for giving back, she’s an invaluable addition to PCRF Connecticut. We’re so lucky to have her leading our digital presence!📸

In these blessed days, let your Udhiya–Qurban reach families in the West Bank. 🌙

Through PCRF's Udhiya Project, fresh meat is slaughtered, packaged, and delivered directly to 5,600 displaced families during the days of Eid, in full accordance with Islamic tradition.
✨ How can you support?

* Giving a full Udhiya that reaches around 70 families
* Sharing a one-seventh share of a calf for 10 families
* Donating a single portion for one family
* Making any contribution, big or small, to support families
* Starting a fundraiser to share with friends and family
* Spreading the word to help reach more families this Eid
💙Together, we can help make Eid feel warmer and more hopeful for displaced families who have long faced uncertainty, displacement, and financial hardships across the northern West Bank.

Give Today.

We are so proud to shine the spotlight on our wonderful Secretary, Ramla — a powerhouse educator whose warmth, dedication, and talent make her an invaluable part of our Connecticut chapter family. 💚

A Career & Technical Education teacher, Ramla brings her expertise in Finance and Marketing into the classroom every day, inspiring the next generation with real-world skills and boundless enthusiasm. Her colleagues and fellow chapter members know her as someone who always shows up — not just to get things done, but to uplift everyone around her.

Outside of her work and her tireless contributions to PCRF Connecticut, Ramla is a devoted mother to two wonderful boys and shares her life with her husband, originally from Tunisia. At home, you'll find her experimenting with recipes in the kitchen, tending to her garden, or dreaming up the next great travel adventure. 🌿✈️

✨ Meet Sharon ✨

She’s an OB-GYN who brings new life into the world by day, a devoted mama and loyal friend always, and a proud Palestinian woman who keeps her culture and heritage alive through the most beautiful means — food, family, and gathering people around her table. 🫒🌿

Sharon embodies true Palestinian hospitality in every sense. Her home is a place where people always feel welcomed, fed, and loved — where the aromas of home-cooked recipes carry generations of tradition and a people’s story. For Sharon, cooking isn’t just a hobby, it’s an act of preservation, of pride, and of love. 🍃❤️

As the Vice President of PCRF’s Connecticut Chapter, she brings that same warmth and devotion to her role — organizing fundraisers, rallying her community, and using her voice and her medical expertise to fight for something close to her heart: ensuring Palestinian children have access to the healthcare and healing they deserve. 🇵🇸💚

She showed up to our launch event with a gorgeous homemade spread of waraq dawali that stopped everyone in their tracks — a little piece of Palestine, made with her own hands, shared with a room full of people ready to make a difference.

That’s Sharon. She leads with love in everything she does — in the delivery room, at the dinner table, and in the fight for her people. 💫

We are endlessly grateful to have her with us.

✨ Volunteer Coordinator Spotlight ✨

We are so excited to introduce you to one of our incredible volunteer coordinators — meet Rawan! 🌿

Rawan is a Palestinian emergency room pediatrics doctor in New York, dedicating her days to caring for the littlest and most vulnerable patients with skill, calm, and compassion. As one of our Volunteer Coordinators, she is the one making sure our chapter runs with heart — connecting volunteers to our mission and making everyone feel welcomed and valued.

For our launch event, she brought a piece of Palestine straight to our table — hand-rolled barak, golden cheese pastries made with love, tradition, and so much heart. Every bite told a story.

Beyond the ER and the kitchen, she is a devoted mama who cherishes every moment with her young family, celebrating their Palestinian culture and keeping its beauty alive in everything she does.

Rawan, thank you for sharing your talent, your food, and your heart with our community. We are beyond blessed to call you one of our own. 🤍🫶

A voice rooted in Gaza, a vision reaching the world.

We were honored to welcome Mr. Aladeen Shawa, Global CEO of , to the launch of our Connecticut Chapter. His words — drawn from a childhood in Gaza and decades of service — moved every person in the room.

We’re sharing his full speech here because some messages are too powerful to cut short.

Together, we are building a future where every Palestinian child receives the care they deserve.

A night we'll never forget.
Two weeks ago, Connecticut made history - and you were part of it.
We officially launched the PCRF Connecticut Chapter to a sold-out room, raising over $6,000 for children in desperate need of medical and humanitarian care. Every photo in this carousel is a reminder of what's possible when a community comes together with one heart and one purpose.
To every guest who showed up, donated, and believed - thank you. To our special guest Aladeen Shawa, Global CEO of PCRF, whose words moved the entire room - thank you. To our volunteers who cooked with so much love, and to our artists who gifted beautiful pieces for our raffle - this night was yours too.
Swipe through and relive the magic. Connecticut, this is just the beginning.
