Ollie, a friendly young kitten,was found under a deck in rural NV. She was able to find a place at our sanctuary in Stagecoach and was scheduled to be spayed in early May. However, it quickly became apparent that Ollie had some passengers on board, and the decision was made to allow her to give birth before spaying her, as she was too far along in the pregnancy.
Ollie went into foster with one of WARF’s longest-standing volunteers, and she thrived there with lots of feline, canine, and human companions. This past Monday night little Ollie went into labor. She delivered two kittens, one of whom was sadly still born, and then nothing else. Her foster family took her to the ER where it was determined that there were five additional kittens still in the womb, and we were advised to wait and see if she could safely deliver the rest of the litter. Sadly, the second kitten to be born did not survive her second day and passed away. Then two days later, Ollie delivered two more kittens, one of whom was stillborn, and things again came to a standstill. The decision was made to perform an emergency Cesarean section to try and relieve Ollie’s suffering and save as many kittens as possible. The foster mom drove Ollie to the , where the wonderful doctors and staff agreed to see Ollie on an emergency basis she went straight into emergency surgery.
Amazingly, there were not three but four tiny but tenacious kittens that were all delivered alive, and Ollie came through surgery with flying colors as well. As of now, five kittens are reunited with this amazing mother cat and are nursing and being cared for by both Ollie and her devoted foster family. In the course of all of this, the ER bills and cost for emergency surgery have reached nearly $1,500, which makes a substantial dent in our emergency veterinary fund. We are hoping to recover some of this expense to allow us to save further animals in need. Meet Marty!

If you’re looking for a dog that turns heads everywhere he goes, Marty is your guy! This handsome cream-colored pittie mix is impossible to miss with his striking two different-colored eyes and his big, happy smile.

Marty is a friendly boy who loves people, but he can be a little nervous when meeting new friends or experiencing new situations. Give him a little time and patience, and you’ll quickly see his sweet, goofy personality shine through.

He’s also quite the chatterbox and always has something to say, whether he’s reminding you it’s time for dinner or asking for a little extra attention. Marty loves being included and enjoys spending time with his people.

One of Marty’s favorite things is kids! He absolutely adores them and would love a family where he can be part of the fun.

With his unique looks, loving heart, and entertaining personality, Marty is ready to find a family that will help him continue building confidence and show him just how great life can be.

Due to no fault of her own, Elsa is back up for adoption. Please help us find her a 💕🐾

Elsa is a 1 year old small Border Collie mix with the most beautiful crystal-blue eyes and a heart full of love.

She is a very sweet girl who enjoys being around people, but she can be nervous when meeting new friends or experiencing new things. Elsa will do best with a patient family that can give her time to feel comfortable and build confidence.

One of Elsa’s favorite things is water! She loves splashing around and diving into little pools whenever she gets the chance.

Elsa is also quite athletic and can easily jump a 6-foot fence, so she will need a secure environment and supervision when outside.

Once she trusts you, Elsa is a loving and loyal companion who will happily be by your side. If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle girl and are willing to help her continue gaining confidence, Elsa may be the perfect addition to your family.
