💔 **BISCUIT NEEDS OUR HELP!** 🐾❤️

Meet Biscuit, a sweet little puppy who has already been through so much in his short life.

After being hit by a car and suffering a severe leg injury, Biscuit desperately needed medical attention. When Stafford County Animal Shelter received a call from VVC about this poor puppy, they sprang into action, picked him up, and made sure he got the care he needed.

Unfortunately, the damage to Biscuit's leg is too severe to repair, and amputation is necessary. His surgery is scheduled for Monday.

While Biscuit has a big hurdle ahead, we know this little guy still has a lifetime of puppy kisses, tail wags, adventures, and love waiting for him! Dogs are remarkably resilient, and with the right care and support, Biscuit can live a wonderful, happy life on three legs. 🐶❤️

🐾 We're asking our incredible community to rally around this little fighter.

Biscuit's surgery and medical care come with significant costs, and we want to do our part to help give him the second chance he deserves. We're hoping to raise $1,500 to help cover Biscuit's surgery and medical expenses.

Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to giving this sweet boy the happy, healthy future he deserves.

If donating isn't possible right now, sharing Biscuit's story is another wonderful way to help. The more people we reach, the more we can help!

Donations can be made to Friends of Stafford County Animal Shelter using the button below or via PayPal: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=7GBSV7YRXC47N

{Friends of Stafford County Animal Shelter is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and all donations are tax-deductible. Any funds raised beyond Elvira's medical expenses will be used to help the next shelter pet in need} ❤️

Biscuit didn't ask for any of this, but together, we can make sure his story has a happy next chapter.

Let's show this little guy what happens when a community comes together for one of its most vulnerable members.

**One puppy. Three legs. And a whole lot of life left to live.** ❤️🐾

Right now, the Stafford County Animal Shelter has more than 50 kittens in foster care and over 70 cats at the shelter—that’s a LOT of hungry bellies depending on them every single day!

🚨 URGENT: The Stafford County Animal Shelter Needs Your Help! 🚨

The shelter is in urgent need of gently used towels, bedding and bleach.

Due to the recent feline panleukopenia outbreak, staff have been working around the clock to keep the animals safe. They’re doing extensive cleaning and disinfecting, and unfortunately, many towels, blankets, and other bedding items must be discarded after use to help prevent the spread of this highly contagious virus.

Right now, they urgently need:

🧺 Gently used towels
🛏️ Gently used blankets
🧼 Washcloths
🧴 Bleach

If you have a few extra towels or blankets sitting in a closet, they can have a second life helping shelter animals stay warm, clean, and comfortable while they wait for their forever homes.

Every donation—big or small—makes a difference.

Items can be dropped off at the shelter anytime. Leave at the front door if they are not open.

26 Frosty Lane, Stafford VA 22554

🙏 Please consider donating if you’re able, and help us spread the word by sharing this post. Someone in your friends list may have exactly what the shelter needs.

Thank you for supporting the incredible staff and volunteers who are doing everything they can to care for Stafford County’s homeless animals. ❤️🐾

🐱 **Kitten Season Is Here... and the Stafford County Animal Shelter Needs Your Help!** 🐶🐾

Right now, Stafford County Animal Shelter is caring for **133 cats and kittens** and **49 dogs**—and we're running low on a few everyday items that make a huge difference.

**Our most-needed donations are:**
🐱 Kitten pâté (any brand)
🐶 Canned dog food (any brand)
📦 Cardboard litter trays
🐾 Non-clumping cat litter (any brand)

**Cardboard litter trays are especially needed!**

They may seem simple, but they've become a game changer for the shelter. Because they're disposable, staff spend far less time washing and disinfecting litter pans and more time caring for the animals. They help keep the shelter cleaner, healthier, and running more efficiently.

**Where do you find them?**

They're often the shallow cardboard trays used to display canned food and other products at grocery stores, pet stores, warehouse clubs, and big-box retailers. Instead of being recycled, they can get a second life helping homeless pets!

💡 If you have a good relationship with your local grocery or pet store, consider asking if they have any empty trays they'd be willing to donate. Every single one helps.

❤️ Every donation—big or small—goes directly toward caring for the animals currently at the shelter.

Just over two weeks ago, a Good Samaritan spotted a black dog struggling to walk along Route 17 near I-95. Injured, alone, and in obvious pain, she could have easily disappeared into the woods. Instead, someone stopped.

Despite everything she was going through, this sweet girl trusted the stranger who came to help her.

She was brought to the Stafford County Animal Shelter and rushed to the Cladda Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Team Center, where X-rays revealed a fractured femur and very limited nerve function in her injured leg. At first, it wasn't clear whether her leg could be saved.

Then came a glimmer of hope.

Over the next few days, Elvira began showing signs that nerve function was returning. With time running short, the veterinary teams at Claddagh and Loving Touch Animal Hospital worked together to give her the best chance at a pain-free future through emergency orthopedic surgery.

Today, we're thrilled to share that Elvira's surgery was a success, and she's already more than two weeks into her recovery. ❤️

Thanks to the incredible care of her foster mom, Elvira is healing beautifully. She's been following her recovery plan like a champ, taking slow, progressive leash walks and spending most of her days doing what she loves best—snuggling on the couch. Her foster mom has absolutely fallen in love with her, and it's easy to see why.

Elvira still has a few more weeks of restricted activity before she'll be ready for full adventures. She'll head back for her 8-week post-op recheck, and with continued healing, we're hopeful she'll have an amazing future ahead.

None of this would have been possible without the support of our amazing community.

So far, you've helped raise **more than $1,200** toward Elvira's life-saving surgery, and we are incredibly grateful for every donation, every share, and every word of encouragement.

But we still need to raise **about $4,000** to cover the remaining cost of her care.

If you've been thinking about donating, now is the perfect time. Please don't underestimate the power of a small gift. Whether it's **$5, $10, $25, or more**, every donation brings us closer to our goal. Small gifts from many caring people quickly add up, making it possible for dogs like Elvira to receive the lifesaving care they deserve.

And if donating isn't possible right now, sharing Elvira's story is another meaningful way you can help.

**And here's the best part...**

Elvira will soon be looking for her forever family. She'll need a patient home willing to help her finish healing and continue building her confidence, but whoever adopts her is going to gain one incredibly loving, resilient best friend.

Thank you for believing in Elvira. Thank you for giving her hope. ❤️

If you'd like to help cover the remaining cost of Elvira's surgery, every contribution—no matter the size—helps us get one step closer to reaching our goal.

Her Story Began with One Kind Stranger. Now You Can Be Part of What Comes Next. ❤️🐾

On Saturday, a Good Samaritan spotted a black dog struggling to walk along Route 17 near I-95. She was injured, alone, and in obvious pain. She could have easily disappeared into the woods, but instead, someone stopped.

Despite everything she was going through, this sweet girl trusted the stranger who came to help her.

Now named Elvira, she was rushed to the Cladda Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Team by the Stafford County Animal Shelter, where X-rays revealed a fractured femur and very limited nerve function in her injured leg. At first, it wasn't clear whether her leg could be saved.

Then came a glimmer of hope.

A few days later, Elvira began showing signs that nerve function was returning. With time running short, veterinary teams at Cladda and Loving Touch Animal Hospital worked together to give her the best chance at a pain-free future through emergency orthopedic surgery.

We're thrilled to share that Elvira's surgery was a success, and she's now recovering in a loving foster home.

As a stray, Elvira had no owner waiting for her. No one to make medical decisions. No one to fight for her.

So the shelter did.

Even with veterinary teams working hard to reduce costs, Elvira's surgery totaled approximately $5,300.

If you're able, please consider donating toward her medical care. Every gift helps us continue stepping in for animals like Elvira when they have nowhere else to turn.

One kind stranger changed Elvira's life. Today, you can help change her future.
