The Special Needs Advocacy Program is a non-profit membership organization committed to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, we work to develop programs, funding and public policy that will assist these individuals in realizing their goals of learning, living, working, worshiping and playing in our community. History: Founded in 2003 by Renata Thomas after she became aware of

the gap between individuals in need of services to services provided, Renata worked to unite those in need with the services that would benefit them most. Under her leadership SNAP worked with local leaders and churches, developed and sponsored Day Camps, Support Groups, Bible Studies, Nutrition Clinics and Galas for her “friends” with special needs. Thomas has relocated to another state, however she requested that Mr. Jason Sapp pick up where she left off and lead SNAP to another dimension! Sapp petitioned for SNAP to be recognized by the State of Virginia under his leadership. SNAP is developing its new mission as we follow its established path. Stay tuned as we announce SNAP’s new ambitions and goals!
