Our garden is a special place where children learn, explore, and connect with nature. From planting seeds to harvesting vegetables, the garden provides hands-on learning experiences that support curiosity, responsibility, healthy habits, and a love for the environment.

We are looking for families to sign up and help care for our garden! Whether you have a green thumb or simply a willingness to lend a hand, your support makes a big difference. Tasks may include watering, weeding, planting, harvesting, and helping keep our garden beautiful for everyone to enjoy.

By volunteering, you are helping create meaningful learning opportunities for our children while strengthening our school community.

If you can spare some time, please sign up to help. Together, we can keep our garden thriving and continue providing this valuable experience for your children and community.

Thank you for your support! 🌼🥕🍅

🌱 Another fun day in the garden! 🌱

Today we welcomed four classes out to the garden for hands-on learning, teamwork, and plenty of planting!

Mrs. Fosatti's class checked in on our thriving scarlet runner beans and helped begin our Three Sisters Garden by planting pink strawberry popcorn. We can't wait to watch it grow alongside the other Three Sisters crops!

Mrs. Wharff's class got to sample our new stevia plants, and there wasn't a single student who didn't enjoy the natural sweetness of the leaves! Students divided into four groups and tackled a variety of garden projects, including planting cucumbers, pumpkins, basil, tomatoes, and stevia. They also helped water plants and moved more soil.

Ms. Hagerman's class teamed up with Mrs. Craft's 2nd-grade class for a special buddy gardening session. Together they planted sunflower seeds along our garden plot and worked hard turning and managing the compost pile.

A huge thank you to all of our young gardeners for their enthusiasm, teamwork, and willingness to get their hands dirty. Every visit helps our garden flourish and creates meaningful learning experiences for our students! 🌻🌽🍅🌱

What a fantastic day in the garden for our last garden work party of the school year! 🌱☀️

We had a great turnout today as volunteers came together to tackle some big projects around our garden. Thanks to everyone's hard work, we cleared our second garden plot of weeds, laid garden fabric, watered throughout the garden, cleaned up around our blueberry bushes, and successfully installed all three arches over our walkway!

We also planted pumpkins and loofa, deadheaded our calendula, and made great progress preparing the garden for a productive growing season ahead. 🌻🎃

It's amazing to see what can be accomplished when our community works together. Every project completed today helps create a more beautiful and productive space for our students and visitors to enjoy.

A huge thank you to everyone who gave their time, energy, and teamwork to make today such a success! We are so grateful for the support of our school family and garden community. 💚🌿

🌱 Garden time was full of teamwork today! 🌱

Ms. Havens’ 4th grade class grabbed their shovels and helped us finish up our tomato row! Students replaced some of the damaged tomato plants and even planted a second row to prepare for our Florida weave. 🍅

Others worked hard moving soil to our raised cut flower bed, helping us get one step closer to even more beautiful blooms. 🌸

One of the best parts of the day was hearing so much communication and teamwork as students worked closely together to get the job done. We are so proud of their hard work and collaboration!

📣 Don’t forget — our LAST workout party of the school year is coming up on Sunday, 5/31! We will also talk about our need for summer volunteers to help keep the garden growing strong.

Today in the Tualatin Elementary Sustainable Garden Ms Hagerman's class got to work!

We leveled the soil for our new raised garden bed, deadheaded the calendula flowers so they can put their energy into growing fresh new blooms, and dug our next trench so the tomatoes can be planted nice and deep. There was plenty more soil moving too — along with lots of teamwork, curiosity, and exploration along the way.

One of the highlights of the day was discovering several ladybugs who looked ready to raise a family in our garden. 🐞 We talked about the larvae stage of ladybugs and how surprisingly different they look before becoming the familiar spotted friends we know.

So much learning, teamwork, and excitement growing right alongside our garden. 🌼🍅

What an incredible night at our Derby-style “Off to the Races” fundraiser! 🏇✨

A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who raised their paddles in support of the garden. Your generosity will help our garden continue to grow, thrive, and serve as a beautiful space for our community to gather, learn, and connect.

We are so grateful for your support, enthusiasm, and belief in what this garden means to so many. Because of you, we’re off to the races toward an even brighter future! 🌱💚

Thank you for making the evening such a success!

Mrs. Mann’s second grade class spent some special time in the garden today! 🍅🌼

The student observed while I carefully unrolled one of their tomato seedlings that they rolled up back in February. We explored the plants using all our senses — especially noticing the fresh smell of the tomato plants and feeling the tiny fuzzy stalks of the plant.

We also learned why planting tomatoes deeply helps them grow strong by allowing the plants to take in more nutrients and water from the soil. The students were wonderful gardeners and scientists.

To finish our time together, we planted colorful confetti flower seeds to create a beautiful border around our new salsa bed. We can’t wait to watch everything grow! 🌱✨

Today Ms. Hagerman’s class tackled the garden head-on! 🌱☀️

We moved more soil, watered the garden beds, and worked hard removing grass from the plots to get everything ready for planting. The students showed great teamwork and determination!
