‼️As our practice continues to grow, we’ve made a few updates to our office policies to better support our patients and our team. We appreciate your understanding, cooperation, and the trust you place in us. Thank you for being part of our practice!

Good afternoon, FMC & CBW clients/patients,
We would like to share an important update regarding our financial policy. Effective July 24, 2026, Family Matters Counseling of Coastal Georgia and Camden Behavioral Wellness will no longer allow new account balances to accrue.
Previously, clients were permitted to carry a balance of up to $150. Due to increasing difficulty collecting copays, coinsurance, deductibles, and other patient-responsibility fees that are due at the time of service, we have updated this policy.
Please note the following:
• Existing payment plans for prior balances will continue to be honored.
• If you are unable to pay a single copay at the time of your appointment, we can arrange a payment plan before your visit is completed. This will include an agreed-upon payment date and scheduled payment processing.
• We will continue to offer sliding-scale discounted rates for those who qualify.
• Intern counseling services will remain available at no cost for individuals who are unable to afford copays.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we implement this change. Our goal is to continue providing high-quality care while maintaining a sustainable practice for all of our clients.
A revised Financial Responsibility Policy will be sent to all current clients/patients in the coming days. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our office.
Thank you for allowing us to be part of your care.

🧠 Would You Be Interested in a New Approach to Healing?

At Camden Behavioral Wellness, we're exploring the possibility of bringing neurofeedback to our community as an additional treatment option for individuals living with PTSD and Major Depressive Disorder.

Neurofeedback is a non-invasive, medication-free approach that uses real-time information about brain activity to help individuals learn to regulate their brain function. Some people report improvements in symptoms such as emotional regulation, sleep, focus, anxiety, and mood when neurofeedback is incorporated into a comprehensive treatment plan.

Before we invest in this technology, we'd love to hear from you!

💙 Would you or someone you know be interested in learning more about neurofeedback?

🐴 Horses & Neurodivergence

For many neurodivergent children and adults, horses offer something truly special—a space where there is no judgement, no pressure, and no need to explain.

Horses don't respond to labels or expectations. They respond to presence, body language, and emotional energy. In doing so, they create a safe environment where self-awareness, confidence, and emotional regulation can naturally grow.

🐴 Being with a horse allows us to:

• Slow down and become present
• Feel safe in a non-verbal environment
• Explore social and emotional skills in a supportive way

Sometimes, even a brief moment with a horse can bring a sense of calm, focus, and genuine connection.

At The Way of The Horse, we believe every person deserves to be met with patience, acceptance, and compassion. Horses do this effortlessly—inviting us to be exactly who we are, while gently encouraging us to grow. 🌿

💚 Different minds.
💚 Shared connection.
💚 Healing begins with being seen.

**Behaviour Is Communication 🐴💛**

One of the greatest lessons horses have taught me is this:

Behaviour is never the problem. It's the message.

Whether it's a child becoming overwhelmed, shutting down, fidgeting, or having an emotional outburst, there's always something deeper being communicated. The nervous system is simply doing its best to cope.

Horses show us the same truth every day.

When a horse becomes restless, hesitant, pulls away, or refuses to engage, it isn't being "difficult." It's telling us that something doesn't feel safe, clear, or comfortable in that moment.

When we stop asking,
"How do I fix this behaviour?"
and start asking,
"What is this behaviour trying to tell me?"
everything changes.

Our judgment becomes compassion.
Our frustration becomes curiosity.
And connection replaces correction.

Whether we're working with children or horses, healing begins when we choose to listen before we react.

At "The Way of The Horse 🐴",
we believe that safety, trust, and connection create the space where both people and horses can truly thrive.

💛 Has a horse—or a child—ever taught you to look beyond behaviour and see the need underneath?

Did You Know?

Your brain has something called a reticular activating system- a filter that helps decide what gets your attention. The more you consume certain types of content, the more your brain starts looking for similar patterns in real life.

No one is meant to go through life alone. Support systems matter, and having someone to talk to can make all the difference during difficult seasons.

Strength is not isolating yourself or carrying every burden in silence. Strength is allowing yourself to lean on trusted people, ask for help when needed, and recognize that healing often happens through connection.

Whether it's a friend, family member, therapist, or support group- reaching out is a powerful step forward.

You deserve support to!
