Our mission is not to convince veterans that they need The Veterans Phalanx.

It is to make sure veterans know there is a community here if they want it.

A place to connect.

A place to serve.

A place to ask for a hand without losing dignity.

A place to stand beside other veterans again.

No veteran should have to face life after service alone.

What an incredible morning at the Standing Watch 5K presented by Everbrew Coffee Co

We had a great time coming together for an important mission, and we couldn’t have asked for a better turnout.

A huge THANK YOU to every sponsor, supporter, volunteer, and participant who helped make today such a success. Whether you ran, walked, volunteered, sponsored, cheered us on, or simply showed up in support — you were part of what made today special.

This is what community looks like. Thank you for standing with us and helping make the Standing Watch 5K one to remember.

Some of the most important people around this organization will never have a title.

They are the people who answer when somebody asks for a hand.

The ones who bring a truck.

Carry the heavy thing.

Make the introduction.

Share the resource.

Stay an extra hour.

Or simply show up when they said they would.

Organizations are built on people like that.

One thing I never want The Veterans Phalanx to become is an organization that talks more than it works.

There is always going to be paperwork. Meetings. Planning. Policies. Fundraising. All the stuff required to keep a nonprofit running.

Fine.

But none of that is the mission.

The mission happens when somebody actually shows up.

MDT Landscaping showed up for a couple in Yulee today and donated a full cut.

I was genuinely impressed with the work.

The precision, the attention to detail, and the care they put into the property stood out immediately. They did not just come by and knock the grass down. They took pride in what they were doing.

I cannot say thank you enough.

They saw an opportunity to help, they showed up, and they did the work.

Our community is better for it.

And I can’t say this enough. When you are looking for someone to cut your grass. Think of those people who are donating good work here in our community.

Another Next Objective:Homefront project

We cannot be at this one because we will already be serving at our Jacksonville Beach cleanup at 1:00 PM, but this is absolutely worth sharing.

On Saturday, September 12, volunteers will gather at Jacksonville National Cemetery from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM for the National Day of Service & Remembrance.

The work will include cleaning headstones and helping beautify the cemetery grounds in honor of military members, veterans, first responders, and their families. Registration is free, but required.

If you are looking for a meaningful way to serve that morning, this is a good one.

And if you want to keep the service going, The Veterans Phalanx will be at Jacksonville Beach Pier beginning at 1:00 PM for our own
beach cleanup.

Two opportunities. One day. A lot of good work getting done.
