When they started Women’s Self Help Center, they were often criticized and forced by the nature of the work to put themselves in harm’s way. They were trailblazers, taking risks and making sacrifices that went far beyond the norm for starting a nonprofit. We honor their heart and vision.

Who is chosen to be platformed and what they say matters! What is a "joke" on Saturday Night Live, influences a way that someone is seen. How a person is seen impacts how they will be treated by their peers and strangers, including potentially putting them at risk for assault and harm.
Actor and writer Dan Levy said it best... "This is not a women’s issue, this is an everybody issue. Because the more that men objectify women in the media, the more that other men see them as objects and treat them as objects. They are not objects."
