Had a great day today lending a hand at Father Dickson Cemetery. This historic cemetery was one of the first public cemeteries available to Black people in the St. Louis area. It's the resting place of several acclaimed Black Americans who lived in St. Louis during the 19th Century, including James Milton Turner, Moses Dickson and Susan Paul Vashon.

Efforts included lots of general cleanup of debris, mulching around tombstones, and splitting/stacking logs from fallen trees. The kids gathered black walnuts and raked leaves.

We all really enjoyed learning the history and reading the names on the stones.

A great day of doing good!
