If they can see it, they can be it. šŸŒāœØ

There’s a myth that our kids only want to be athletes or entertainers. The truth? They gravitate toward what is visible. We see Black excellence on the court and on the stage every day—so that’s where they look.

If we want them to look at other elite, high-paying fields, we have to make those fields visible, too.

Look at the graphic: Black professionals make up less than 5% of the animal workforce. Yet, the animal care industry is a massive $158 BILLION economic powerhouse in the U.S. alone.

This field is wide open, lucrative, and there is room for everyone. By not exposing our children to it, we are leaving generational wealth on the table.

We need to introduce our youth to the high-end spaces where they can dominate:

•Advanced Animal Psychology & Behavior Specialists

•Veterinary Surgeons & General Practitioners

•Canine Massage & Physical Therapy Experts

•Elite Business Owners & Industry Innovators

At Can't Get Right K9 Training, we aren't just teaching dogs. We are the visible blueprint. We are showing the next generation how to operate at the absolute highest level of animal science and claim their piece of a billion-dollar table.

Let's change what's visible. Let's introduce our children to spaces where they can lead. šŸ¾āœŠšŸ¾

Seeking Disciplined Talent for the BAKC Handler Apprenticeship

The Black American Kennel Club (BAKC) is looking for a select group of dedicated, high-energy individuals to join our professional apprenticeship team. We are preparing for our upcoming halftime showcase at Lane College in Jackson, Tennessee, and we are searching for the next generation of expert canine handlers to showcase the BAKC’s standard of excellence.

Two Paths to Mastery:

Professional Apprentice Track: Ages 18–25.

Junior Apprentice Track: Ages 13–17 (Parental/Guardian consent required).

This is an elite mentorship opportunity for those with a genuine passion for dogs. All apprenticeship training is conducted exclusively through Can’t Get Right K9 Training, ensuring that every member of our performance team is grounded in the "Ivy League" of dog training standards.

The Performance Experience:

You won't just be learning the theory; you will be living it on the collegiate stage. As a member of the BAKC performance team, you will work directly with our highly trained dogs in a high-energy environment. Under the expert guidance of Can't get right K9 Training, you will master agility, guiding dogs through tunnels and over hurdles, and become a critical part of the show’s mechanics—holding the props and hoops that serve as the focal point for our elite canine athletes to jump through. You will be the foundation of the performance, ensuring our dogs deliver a master-level showcase.

What you will gain:

āœ“Professional Handler Certification: Gain the formal credentials and training provided by Can’t Get Right K9 Training to begin your career as a professional handler.

āœ“Elite Mentorship: Hands-on, direct training from a certified expert in Animal Psychology, Pet Behavior, and Canine Massage Therapy.

āœ“Collegiate Performance Experience: Join the Black American Kennel Club for a high-profile performance at Lane College in Jackson, Tennessee.

āœ“Professional Portfolios: Earn certificates of mastery and handler participation, setting the foundation for professional excellence.

What is required:

•A Heart for Animals: A deep, genuine passion for working with dogs and learning the nuances of their behavior.

•Disciplined Focus: You must be able to maintain professional presence, physical control, and composure under pressure.

•Commitment: Mastery isn't an accident. We are looking for individuals willing to put in the work required to represent the BAKC with integrity and authority.

If you are driven, ready to learn, and prepared to be part of the "Ivy League" of dog training and performance, I want to hear from you. We don't just put on a show; we demonstrate professional mastery.

Interested? Please call or text (text preferred) 314-899-6571 with your name and a brief overview of your background, why you have a passion for working with dogs, and your best contact information. You can also send a direct message.

Serious inquiries only.

It was a true honor to stand with Jhadn at Keeven Elementary School to officially present him with his Junior Handler Certificate. After his big win at the Keeven Talent Show, we had to make sure his achievement was recognized with the prestige it deserves.

Excellence isn’t just taught; it’s demonstrated. Our youth need positive role models to show them what’s possible when you commit to mastery.

On a personal note, I am incredibly proud to be in a position where I can offer something so positive to our young kids. Why do we do this? Because we care about our youth. šŸ¾ā¤ļø

It’s as simple as that.

At Can't get right K9 Training and the Black American Kennel Club - BAKC , we see the pressure our young people are under. We see the brilliance in them that the rest of the world often overlooks.

We know they deserve more than just rapping and sports. Our kids deserve a craft that builds real discipline. They deserve a science that sharpens the mind. They deserve to know that they can be leaders, educators, and masters of a specialized skill.

We’re building the Junior Handler Program because our youth deserve a legacy they can be proud of. When you give a young person a leash and the right guidance, they don’t just stay out of trouble—they thrive.

This summer, let’s give them a new path to Mastery.

Now Enrolling for our Junior Handler Summer Program. šŸ“² Text "JUNIOR" to 314-899-6571 to get your young person involved.

The Gold Standard of Canine Legacy

Our Purpose
Every community deserves more than basic services; they deserve mastery. The BAKC exists to reclaim history and establish an "Ivy League" standard of excellence that honors the bond between handlers and their dogs while building a legacy of achievement.

Who We Are
The Black American Kennel Club (BAKC) is a national necessity—an institution dedicated to canine advocacy, elite handler education, and community infrastructure. Founded by Courtney Musgraves (The K9 King), the BAKC addresses the lack of professional standards in the traditional dog world by providing a world-class experience designed specifically for underserved and marginalized communities.

We operate with professional prestige and a vibrant cultural energy that ensures our members never settle for anything less than the Gold Standard.

What We Do
We architect the future of canine mastery through a foundation of discipline and specialized education:

Purebred Registration: Official registration and pedigree tracking for purebred dogs, featuring the Embossed Gold BAKC Seal.

Companion Dog Registration: A dedicated registration path for mixed-breed dogs, recognized as BAKC Companion Dogs.

BAKC Academy: A master curriculum to "train the trainers," creating elite career paths and economic opportunities within the community.

Wellness & Advocacy: Clinical health standards and community vaccination clinics led by our board leadership to improve public health outcomes.

Youth Mastery: Programs teaching life skills, emotional resilience, and professional mentorship to underserved youth.

Featured Event: Dog Extravaganza: PAWS & Play Date
A landmark national showcase and community gathering featuring:

Elite Competitions: Showcases in Agility, Obedience, and Protection Training that highlight discipline and skill.

Signature Celebration: Our famous Dog Costume Show, bringing creativity and personality to the forefront of canine mastery.
