Bridges Foundation Bringing Ignatian Spirituality to Everyday Life The Bridges Foundation offers the Spiritual Exercises of St. Louis metropolitan area. Ignatius of Loyola.

Ignatius of Loyola each year at various sites throughout the St. This program, known as the Bridges Retreat, provides those seeking a deeper relationship with God the opportunity to experience the full Spiritual Exercises, developed in the 1500s by St. The Bridges Foundation Retreat begins each year in September and continues until May. During this 8-month period, you will make a commitment to private prayer for an hour each day using prayers, meditations and reflections set forth in the Spiritual Exercises. In addition, you will meet weekly with a trained, experienced Prayer Companion who serves, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, to journey with you through the Spiritual Exercises based upon your experiences during your prayer time. The retreat experience also includes a community aspect with weekly/monthly group meetings that include speakers, presentations and opportunities for group sharing.

On Saturday, October 17, one of the Magis community’s favorite speakers returned for one last presentation before returning to his home state of Nebraska. Fr. Paul Hoesing, rector of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary, gave two presentations on understanding sin and sinfulness. The presentations were the first at Magis’ new home for the 26-27 year at Saint Louis University High School.

Bridges Executive Director Steve Givens and long-time Bridges prayer companion, presenter and former board member Rick Lageson recently visited Sr. Miriam Wesselmann, SSND, at her retirement community in Columbia, IL. They presented her with a special award from the board of directors, honoring her for her many years of service and leadership of the Bridges community.

Under the new leadership of Magis coordinator Patty Feder, we began a new Magis year on Saturday with two excellent and inspiring presentations on The Purpose of the Spiritual Exercises and the Principle and Foundation by our good friend Dr. Hsin-hsin Huang.

This year we have 66 people signed up for Magis and 6 of those opted to sign up for an additional online group for no additional fee.

Hsin-hsin concluded her presentation with these important statements and questons:
