We have just about 20 spaces remaining for the Ignatian Community Retreat, to be held July 17-18 at Pallottine Retreat and Conference Center in Florissant. Led by author Eric Clayton,
the retreat will be a time of reflection on using the powerful tools for peace that St. Ignatius has given us in his Spiritual Exercises.

Last evening we celebrated the end of our 2025-26 Bridges Retreat year with our annual "Sending Ceremony," held at the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet Motherhouse. Congratulations to our 30 retreatants and all who made the year and last evening possible, and thanks to Fr. Marcus Fryer for being our speaker for the evening.

Inspired by Psalm 98, this song's a reminder that, even when the world seems to be going to hell in a hand basket, God is still at work in the details, recreating the world with each new day. This weekend was Bridges' annual "Marketplace Spirituality Retreat" for our current-year retreatants and their prayer companions and site coordinators. This year, 50 of us gathered at the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet Motherhouse in south city (with another half dozen online) and were led in prayer and reflection by Fr. Marcus Fryer, SJ.

Here's a new Christmas song from Bridges executive director Steve Givens and his musical collaborators. It's important to remember that this time of year can be difficult for many for a myriad of reasons, not the least of which is poverty.

We are called to remember always that, "The Lord hears the cry of the poor" when they pray, especially at this time of year.
