Dear Elder Justice Colleagues,

The National Weekend of Prayer and Action for Elder Justice is just two weeks away, Friday – Sunday, June 12th – June 14th. Held the weekend before World Elder Abuse Awareness Day annually, this event is a meaningful opportunity for faith communities to break the silence on elder abuse and support older adults who may be experiencing abuse.

Faith communities are uniquely positioned to make an impact:
Up to 89% of older adults are actively involved in faith communities
Faith leaders are among the most trusted voices in many communities
Congregations can play a vital role in recognizing possible abuse, having difficult conversations, and offering support and spiritual guidance
Please share these resources with your faith communities and encourage them to incorporate this information in a service, on a bulletin board, or through social media. Make sure to capture your activities on the WEAAD events map!

This is the scam economy. It's not the fabled Nigerian prince who needs help cashing in his inheritance. This is more devastating and has likely targeted someone you know.
