We’re excited to introduce Alex Johnmeyer as the judge for The Color of Music at Elysian Gallery 🎨🎶

Alex Johnmeyer is an award-winning multidisciplinary artist based in St. Louis whose work blends vibrant realism, layered texture, pop culture, and deeply personal storytelling. Working across oil, watercolor, and acrylic, his paintings explore themes of nostalgia, identity, authenticity, and human connection.

In addition to an extensive exhibition history throughout the St. Louis region, Alex has received numerous honors including St. Louis Magazine’s “Best Fine Artist” and the “Award of Excellence in Artistry” from the St. Louis City Recorder of Deeds.

Beyond his studio practice, Alex is also a passionate advocate for community arts engagement, LGBTQ+ visibility, and creative collaboration throughout the region.

🏆 Exhibition awards will be announced at 7 PM during the opening reception on June 6 at Elysian Gallery.

Paul Schmidt is a St. Louis-based abstract artist whose work combines sharp geometry, fragmented grids, and organic forms. His paintings turn structure into tension, using bold color and interruption to explore the fragile space between order and collapse.
Paul brings his creative vision, professionalism and art hanging experience to the STL360 exhibition and is excited to help show-case St. Louis Artists.
