Team Albrecht Competes at Nationals!

Team Albrecht traveled to Scottsdale, Arizona this past weekend to compete in the National Tennis Championships. While they didn’t bring home the title, the team played some outstanding tennis and represented the Missouri Valley with pride and sportsmanship.

🏆 Mary Vassar Adult Sportsmanship: Shelley Fridley
Shelley leads with integrity, kindness, and respect in every match. She has played on more than one hundred teams and captained more than sixty. Shelley welcomes new players and supports the tennis community with a positive and thoughtful spirit that reflects true sportsmanship.

🏆 Official of the Year: Diana Trickey
Diana is known for her fairness, calm professionalism, and strong knowledge of the rules. She began officiating in 2012 and is respected by players, parents, and coaches. Diana has officiated events from local junior tournaments to the Edwardsville Futures and the USTA Boys 16 to 18 National Championships in Kalamazoo.

🏆 Tennis Family of the Year: The Cimarolli Nosic Family
Tennis brought Maggie Cimarolli and Stefan Nosic together, blending two families with a strong love for the sport. Together they play, coach, mentor, captain teams, and volunteer at events. They continue to support the tennis community including through involvement with the Edwardsville Futures. Family members being honored are Barb Cimarolli, Dave Cimarolli, Emily Cimarolli, Maggie Cimarolli Nosic, Ralf Nosic, Beth Nosic, and Stefan Nosic.

Join us at our upcoming USTA St. Louis Awards Celebration (Sat. Nov. 15). Reservations are still open. Here are more of our incredible award winners we will be honoring:

🏆 Adult Player of the Year (4.0 & Above) – Female: Clarissa Allen
After a 14-year break, Clarissa returned to tennis in 2019 and has competed in nearly 200 matches since. Known for her skill, consistency, and signature “Let’s go!” she lifts every teammate with her kindness and sportsmanship.

🏆 Adult Player of the Year (4.0 & Above) – Male: Matthew Suddarth
Matt discovered tennis in 2020 and quickly turned it into a passion. He has earned top local and regional rankings, competed at National Championships, and serves as co-captain of his 4.0 team, supporting teammates on and off the court.

🏆 Outstanding Contributor to USTA Leagues – Female: Patty Fry
Patty has played on 128 teams and captained more than 40, introducing countless players to the game. A three-time representative at NTRP Nationals, she has strengthened the local tennis community through leadership and friendship.

🏆 Outstanding Contributor to USTA Leagues – Male: Dominic Marticorena
Since 2021, Dom has grown local tennis through coaching juniors and underserved youth and expanding USTA Leagues. He transformed the Under 40 Social League into a year-round, community-focused program that continues to thrive.

🏆 Adult Player of the Year (2.5–3.5) – Female: Angela Reckelhoff
From hitting with a wooden racquet in her basement to competing in over 640 matches, Angela’s love for the game and competitive spirit shine on every court.

🏆 Adult Player of the Year (2.5–3.5) – Male: Brian Santos
Returning to competitive tennis as a source of joy and resilience, Brian has qualified for multiple National Championships and inspires teammates with his integrity and sportsmanship.
