If you're coming to Lebanon for the Missouri Preservation conference, make sure to check out the Munger Moss Motel. In 1945, Nell Munger and Emmett Moss moved their sandwich shop from Devil's Elbow to Lebanon to take advantage of the Route 66 traffic. Over the following decades they expanded the restaurant into a motel complex with forty-four rooms and seventeen apartments. The swimming pool in the central court was the first swimming pool in the city of Lebanon. The neon sign, added in the 1950s, is an iconic site on Missouri's stretch of the Mother Road.

The Munger Moss motel was captured in a 2003 survey of Route 66 resources and evaluated in a 2024 eligibility assessment but has not been nominated to the National Register of Historic Places.
