Last weekend, MTUG tried something new and held a bake sale to fundraise for our food pantry - and you all showed up! Over 10 community members donated high quality baked goods, from cheesecake cookies, to whole pumpkin pies, to cardamom buns and more. So many of you stopped by to support our sale and spend time in community. We ended up raising over $700 for our monthly food delivery program. Also, since the bake sale, we have received 200 pounds of food donations. Thank you so much for supporting the bake sale and the pantry!

We're looking for one special person!

We unexpectedly have a spot open to operate our human slot machine. If playing trivia isn't your thing, this is a great way to support MTUG at trivia night. It's easy! All you do is hold up a paddle when people pay for a spin. Interested? Just comment here and we'll reach out!

Intersex Awareness Day at High Low

Monday, October 26, 5 to 8 pm
Free and open to everyone, with a cash bar

30 years ago, a group of intersex people sat in front of a camera and told their own stories. That film, Hermaphrodites Speak!, was one of the first times intersex people spoke for themselves on screen. This year, a new group did it again in Intersex Futures.

Join us to watch both films, then stay for a conversation with local intersex leaders Nokie Rae, Jordan Braxton, and Aubrey Lay, along with Court Felle, who appears in Intersex Futures.

Come as you are, with whatever you know or don’t know. If you’ve never knowingly met an intersex person, this is a good place to start, and every question is welcome, including the awkward ones.

Our bake sale is tomorrow! We've had a ton of folks volunteer to bake but there's still time if you want to bring anything in, just reach out to the listed email. For everyone else, we hope to see you tomorrow starting at 11am. All proceeds will be directly benefitting our food pantry, and if you aren't interested in buying something, donations of food or funds are always hugely appreciated!

MTUG's pantry delivery day is this Friday, October 9 and we need more drivers. Every month, our volunteers bring free food and toiletries directly to trans folks and their families in need across the St. Louis Metro Area. The need is growing - this month we are serving 40 families, 10 more than usual.

Volunteer drivers should arrive at MTUG's community center around 11am and are expected to drive their own vehicle. Routes are typically completed by 2pm. If you'd like to help pack boxes as well, arrive at 10am.

Email Luna at [email protected] to sign up for a delivery driver shift or for any questions.

Exciting news! We know a seat at trivia isn't in everyone's budget but trivia night is also about being in community. St. Louis Aerial Collective, one of our sponsors, has donated all 8 spots at a table to be raffled off to 8 lucky people! If you're chosen, you'll get 1 free seat at this community table. Play trivia, and make new friends 🙂

TRANS PEOPLE: WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU! 🏠 🏳️‍⚧️
Link in bio!

What has your experience been like finding, affording, or keeping housing?

THISTL is conducting a housing survey by and for trans people to better understand our community’s experiences with housing and economic security.

We’re working to create community-informed economic and housing solutions that meet people where they are and address the barriers keeping our communities from stability.

Have you rented? Bought a home? Struggled to make rent? Experienced discrimination or housing instability?

We want to hear from you.

Take our trans-led survey, and help us break the cycle.

We're just about a week away from the Bake Sale! We've had tons of folks reach out to get involved, but there's still time to let us know if you'd like to participate on the baking side of the event. The event will be overlapping with our usual Saturday Social Hours so it will also be a great time to hang out with other community members after you grab your baked goods!

All of the money raised will go towards keeping our food pantry stocked for folks who need access to it during the week or receive food as part of our pantry delivery day. If you are unable to make it out on the day of, we are always accepting donations in food or funds for the pantry and every bit helps. Thank you to everyone planning to participate or attend, and we look forward to seeing you there!

In addition to the presentation itself, there will also be plenty of time for questions and you're free to bring in open enrollment materials for specifics! We look forward to seeing everyone there from 1pm to 4pm this Saturday, October 3rd!
